In a new interview with Vulture, R Kelly claims the many years of rumors regarding him and young girls just aren’t true and disgruntled employees are the source of the gossip.
Vulture writes:
The next time I speak to R. Kelly is a week or so after the Buffet listening session. I call a recording studio in California at seven in the morning West Coast time. A publicist puts him on the phone.
Do you have a s*xual attraction to underage girls? I ask.
“That’s a rumor that comes from the Earth, like all rumors,” he says, sounding almost bored.
So it’s not true?
“No. It’s not true. I love women, period. If I wasn’t a celebrity, people wouldn’t be saying these things about me.”
How do you explain people close to you saying that you have a problem?
“I don’t know those people you’re talking about.”
I clarify: his brother, his ex-publicist, his former friend and longtime personal assistant.
“All those people have been fired by me. If you’re going to ask me these questions, you have to make sense out of it. It wasn’t until after they got fired that they said these things. Go figure. I got one life, and I don’t want to spend it talking about negativity. I’ve moved on. Maybe you haven’t.”
It’s not crazy to think that where there’s smoke there’s fire.
“Let’s correct that,” he says. “Smoke can be anything. I’ve seen smoke and then I looked and there was no fire.”
And what about all the settlements? All the rumors?
“I understand the game,” Kelly says. “Get as much dirt as you can on somebody, get it all together, and make it real juicy so we can sell some papers. I understand the job you guys have to do.”
How do you explain the tape that Jim DeRogatis got?
“I don’t have no recollection of none of that. My lawyers handled that, what, eight, nine years ago?”
Do you have a s*xual compulsion or problem that you need help with?
“I only have a problem with haters. Other than that, I’m doing well. I feel better than ever with my album The Buffet.”
So in 2015, we’re supposed to pretend that tape never happened and the only reason he didn’t end up in jail for it is because the little girl refused to testify? Well alright.
Then how do you explain the tape? You can’t blame that on disgruntled employees. You need more people, Robert.
The delusion with this one was is very strong.

This man is so heartless and evil to me. He refuses to acknowledge what he’s done to so many young girls. That means he doesn’t really think what he’s done is wrong. And that’s sick.
He made some great music but I had to give up on R Kelly a long time ago. We have to stop supporting people who don’t mind abusing young black girls. And it just seems like so many of us still support him anyway knowing what we know. I don’t understand it.
He will never admit it. That’s why I don’t support him anymore.

The people who lie with a straight face are the scariest.
I really don’t expect much out of this selfish fool. Yes his music is on point but I can’t stomach listening to someone who r-pes little girls. The lawsuits the NY Post pulled up and the the victims who did talk said this man ruined their lives. Even Aaliyah’s family said they believe he ruined her to some extent. Abuse has longterm effects on people.
I used to be this man’s biggest fan but I couldn’t keep pretending he isn’t a monster.
