Mona Scott Young Thinks Remy Ma & Papoose Can Fix LHHNY Brand

Remy Ma tells Billboard Mona Scott Young really wanted the couple on LHHNY because she felt their storyline would bring the show back to its purpose.

Here’s the excerpt:

You and Papoose are joining Love & Hip Hop: New York. How did that opportunity come about?

[The producers were] actually were trying to get me and my husband to do it for years now. When i was in prison, they wanted to catch that dynamic of him coming to visit me and me being away and I just couldn’t do it. It sounded like it would’ve been cool footage but I really was going through a traumatic situation — I was in prison, I had an eight-year sentence and was like, ‘I don’t care about no reality TV. I don’t care about nothing. I just want to get out.’ It was Mona Scott-Young who really got to us. She was like, ‘I know what the stereotype is of [the show]. People feel like it’s a graveyard for rappers and then there’s the craziness of drinks being thrown, spitting, fighting, like I don’t want to be any parts of that. But when we sat down [with Mona] and we were actually talking. she explained how she wanted to get back to the essence [of the show]. She wanted something that personified and reflected the title Love & Hip Hop. She was like, ‘I feel like you guys are that.’

  1. Mona just conned Remy. She knew what to say to get them to agree to be on the show and now they have that Rah chick coming for her for ratings. People have to stop trusting Mona so much.

  2. Mona said anything to close the deal hell Remy should know Mona ain’t sh-t she tried to exploit her while in jail. What the f-ck can a reality show do for Remy while in prison. Mona had everything to gain while Remy was locked up Mona is really a piece of work.

  3. Hmm it makes sense but Mona still can’t be trusted. I really think she will cross anyone for ratings. Look how she did Chrissy in the end.

  4. Remy should look at this show’s track record. And can’t “get back” to an essence it never possessed in the first place. This show has never lived up to its name… Beyond the crap Mona fed her, I think she just used this as her opportunity to get back out there after being released from jail. She just needs to call it what it is.
