According to reports, “Empire” has been renewed for another season, despite the show still taking a hit in ratings.
E! News writes:
Empire was renewed for a fourth season by Fox, the network announced at the 2017 Winter TCA Press Tour on Wednesday. In December, Empire’s fall finale, which aired an hour earlier at 8 p.m. to help launch co-creator Lee Daniels’ new show Star, garnered 7.57 million viewers.
The decision to renew the musical drama was surely a no-brainer for Fox, as it’s TV’s no. 1 broadcast drama, a title its held for the last three seasons in the all-important adults 18-49 demo. Let’s just chalk it up to the power of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), yes?
I don’t think this show will ever be as good as it was the first season.
As long as Lee keeps bashing black people in interviews, Empire will keep getting renewed.
Agreed
They will keep this show alive as long as the ratings are decent. I can’t say I enjoy it anymore though.
I only still watch sporadically when I don’t have nothing to do or nothing to watch……he’s lucky he has actors in it that we do like because I totally wouldn’t watch if it meant fully supporting Lee
