Yesterday morning on the Breakfast Club, DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God were talking about Ciara’s photo shoot with Harper’s Bazaar. When, Ciara posted the photos to her Instagram account, many men were in uproar about the specific photo that featured Baby Future and Russell Wilson. Charlamagne, who along with Lil Duval, proceeded to get dragged on social media for calling the photo stupid and calling out women for liking the photo.
Charlamagne felt some kind of way about this and during the segment about said photo, proceeded to call out Ciara’s fanbase, calling them “crickets,” and mentioning Ciara’s record sales. He says:
“The moral of the story is Rhianna got her Navy, Beyoncé got her Beyhivé and Ciara got her Crickets. That’s the name of all of Ciara’s fans; Crickets. Especially those little annoying mf’s on social media.
“And if y’all loved Ciara so much, put that same energy into buying her records that y’all do put towards people who got something negative to say about her and Russell Wilson. Or not even negative, they may just have a different opinion; if i think the picture is stupid, and I think they should’ve kept it to themselves, that’s my opinion.
“You like it and you love it, great but don’t slander me because of my opinion. I don’t knock you for not buying her records, do I?”

I don’t think this is the time for stan wars. I have to question how women are siding against Ciara when she’s just living her life like she’s supposed to. Her relationship with Future didn’t work out. What is she supposed to do? Sulk for the rest of her life and never get in another relationship? Or better yet, do like Brittni and continue to wait around for him to change? She did the right thing. The mature thing. I don’t see how anyone can have a problem with that.

It’s scary when you see how confused some of these black men are about masculinity. They associate masculinity with mistreating women. To them, Future is a real man. Russell is not. Being a standup guy isn’t masculine to them. Then they wonder why the black community has so many issues.
Charlamagne is like one of those gnats that just will not go away. It’s unfortunate that he can’t have a healthy debate without deflecting and making this about her career. As someone else said, everyone defending her isn’t a fan. I don’t know what Ciara did to him but he’s totally butt hurt.
