During an interview with BET.com, Rick Ross was asked if Nicki Minaj should’ve responded to Remy Ma’s “ShETHER” faster than she did. He feels Nicki did right by responding, on her own time.
…If I’m gettin’ money and I’m doin’ what I’m doin’, you ain’t goin’ anywhere. You ain’t goin’ on tour over in Russia. You gon be right there. I got somethin’ for you, trust me. Or, if that’s part of my overall diabolical scheme I’m puttin’ together, I may need a lil time in between of whatever it is I’m tryna do… It depend on what it is. I don’t believe anyone can dictate the time span you have to respond but you most definitely should. Especially if you’re on the throne. It’s without a doubt Nicki was on the throne, is on the throne.
This led to the interviewer asking if Nicki Minaj is the Queen of Rap. Rick Ross has little doubt about who sits on the throne.
That’s without a doubt [Nicki Minaj is the Queen]. Anybody that says different… you’d be playin’ yourself. It’s most definitely respectable female emcees in the game… with Remy, if there was a contender [for the throne] it was Remy. That’s what she did. She took her shot.
In other news, Rick Ross has words of advice for his Maybach Music Group artist Meek Mill about his breakup with Nicki Minaj.
“I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki,” he raps on the Raphael Saadiq-assisted “Apple of My Eye.” “Instead of beefing with your dog, you just give ’em some distance / We all make mistakes, let’s not be too ‘pecific.”

Nicki will remain on top. That’s why people are teaming up to take her down. It didn’t work when a legend did it (Lil Kim) so it’s definitely not going to work now that two flops (Meek, Remy) and a never will be (Safaree) are trying to do it. Her fan base ain’t going nowhere. So yes, she is the Queen of Rap. Seethe, cry, moan…won’t change a thing. People have to get over it. They have been wishing for Drake’s downfall too. Lmfao.
I sensed a little Remy shade…
Me too.
Lord Meek is going to be salty.
Nicki’s album sales actually went up after Shether, so I think it’s safe to say she’ll survive. Losing rap beefs aren’t the end of the world.
Too many female rappers are trying to either regain popularity or get a comeup off of dissing Nicki and it’s getting real tired. Their main focus should be finding the right team, perfecting their craft, and creating/ reconstructing their niche.
Says alot then about the rap world
He’s entitled to his opinion. But what annoys me is how people want to complain about the state of rap and “lesser” rappers like Nicki being successful when they don’t even buy albums of the artists they think are better than Nicki. Just like right now, they are on the internet fake stanning for Remy but still ain’t buying none of her music. It ain’t Nicki’s fault rap is what it is. It’s your fault. Y’all never support people you like with your coins. Yall just sit on the internet and whine instead. IG comments and likes ain’t paying bills.
Anyway his new album is the truth. I listened to it and liked it. I’m going to go ahead and buy it. It’s going to be my soundtrack for the Spring and Summer.
