‘Claws’ Recap: Uncle Daddy Loses a Family Member + Desna Makes a Sacrifice

Ann, Polly and Virginia save Desna, with help from Dean.

The season finale opens with Roller still on the chase of Desna. However, Ann, Dean, Polly and Virginia are headed to the park and find Desna’s car. They had Dean use Desna’s GPS to find her, but they only find one of the Russians cars and one of them shot in the head. Virgina finds Desna’s phone next to the car but not her.

Meanwhile, Roller is interrupted by the other Russian. This guy is chasing down Roller, trying to shoot him for what he did to his brother. This allows Desna to flag down Ann who manages to scoop her up before Roller can shoot her. Roller chases her down but is unable to get close enough.

Their reunion is briefly lived as Desna understands the severity of the situation. She barks out orders for Ann to drive as fast as she can to get away from the situation. She tells them that the Russians said Jenn’s daughters are in danger, so they must get to the kids immediately.

“Drive this B*tch!” – Desna

Meanwhile, all of them try to reach out to Jenn, but she doesn’t pick up.

Jenn cheats on Bryce with Hank the Jew.

Jenn is waking up in a bed, next to Hank. Bryce is no where to be found. They have been sleeping together and Bryce isn’t aware of this yet. Hank gets up and puts clothes on, asking what she wants. Jenn lets it be known that food isn’t at the top of her priorities at the moment.

“I want love and affection, in that order.” – Jenn

Hank gets the hints and climbs on top of Jenn to kiss her. As they share another moment, the camera pans to Jenn’s phone to show the numerous missed calls and texts from the girls and Bryce.

Uncle Daddy learns about Roller’s antics, which come at a serious price; Juanda’s life.

Roller calls Uncle Daddy to tell him what happened at the abandoned amusement park. He tells him to call Jenn & Juanda and have them come to She She’s because they’re at war now. Uncle Daddy is furious considering he’s still dealing with the fact that Bryce accidentally killed Ted.

“You understand what you did, you dumb idiot?” – Uncle Daddy

Despite his anger, Uncle Daddy knows the severity of the situation and gets right to getting things set up.

Uncle Daddy calls his wife to head down to She She’s. She gets excited about now being at war and calls out to her granddaughters to get ready. They are hiding in the closet and she pulls her gun out on them. She manages to get them into the car, but she goes back for her wedding ring. She finds a Russian inside and she tries to shoot him, but there aren’t any bullets. She manages to strike him with a statue repeatedly, killing him but she gets shot in the stomach by another Russian she didn’t see before.

Uncle Daddy is worried because no one has arrived yet to She She’s. He and Bryce decide to head to the house, and are shocked to see Juanda shot in the stomach. When they get to her, she tells them the girls are in her car, and that she “got one of them.” Bryce gets there and finds Brienne was kidnapped. The other kid has a message written on her forehead that says, “Bring us Roller.” Uncle Daddy stays back to console Juanda. He kneels dowb to Juanda, who’s slumped against a sofa dying.

They reminisce about how Juanda’s father didn’t want them to even marry.

“My dad didn’t want me to marry you. He said you weren’t fit to clean the cat s*** off a possum’s d***. ” – Juanda

Despite this, she tells him how she loves him dearly and always has.

Juanda is succumbing to her gunshot wound. She and Uncle Daddy share one final moment and both shed tears. She tells him, “You’re gonna live. You’re gonna hurt em. Hurt em really bad.”

As she dies, Uncle Daddy begins to cry almost uncontrollably. This enrages Uncle Daddy who must now seek revenge.

Dean goes off and Bryce delivers bad news.

The girls get to Desna’s house. When they get in, Desna tries to send Dean off to his room so they can figure out where Jenn could be. However, Dean ignores Desna, instead asking about why Roller was trying to kill her. She tells Dean it’s a long story, and Dean replies, “I got time.”

She explains that she and Virginia tried to kill Roller first, because they both were mad at him. He goes off on Desna because she stopped him from hurting the Coombses. He isn’t in any mood to listen to Desna’s apologies.

“Don’t be sorry! Do better!” – Dean

She explains that she’s been going through a lot in her life, but Dean isn’t hearing it.

“Stop making stupid life choices.” – Dean

As he storms off to his room, Bryce calls and tells the girls the Russians have Brienne. This shocks the girls and they get back to figuring out where Jenn could be. Virginia then tells them that she has been hanging out at the Messianic Jewish shop next to the salon.

Desna realizes where Jenn is, and brings Polly with her, leaving Ann and Virginia behind to look after Dean.

Desna delivers bad news to Jenn about Brienne. 

When Desna arrives at Hank’s apartment, she bangs on the door. Hank answers, and sees him shirtless. Jenn walks in putting her clothes on, not looking ashamed of what she did.

“I know what it looks like, but… it’s exactly that.” – Jenn

Desna ignores this and tells her that Riva has Brienne. Jenn gets completely angry and starts going off on Desna. She blames Desna for everything. Desna apologizes and promises to fix it.

Jenn storms out of Hank’s apartment, telling Desna, “You better [fix it].”

Roller tells Uncle Daddy about Desna’s attempt to kill him.

Brienne is with Riva, and she’s impressed with Riva’s home. Riva gave Brienne tea and desserts, to keep her happy.

Riva gets in contact with Uncle Daddy. Riva calls Roller an idiot while Uncle Daddy demands that Brienne is safe. Riva reveals she is safe and Uncle Daddy tells her not to harm a hair on her head. Riva tells him that, “Soon, she won’t want to leave.”

Uncle Daddy speaks sternly that it’s time they end this.

“What we do here in Palmeto, Putin b****, it’s an eye for an eye. I got one of yours, you got one of mines.” – Uncle Daddy

Riva interjects and says, that Uncle Daddy has two of hers. She wants Roller dead for killing one of her henchmen and tells Uncle Daddy to ask about Olga. She then hangs up, but not before she requests for Desna to be the one he sends over to negotiate a deal.

When they hang up, Uncle Daddy asks about Olga. Roller tells him that she is the daughter of Riva he got pregnant while she was underage. He also reveals that the Russians have been shaking him down for about $30,000 weekly. Desna reveals that Roller also has been kicking back money for himself too.

Roller replies to Desna, “I’m not the only one with secrets here.” Uncle Daddy ignores that because he is furious with Roller.

“I raised you, and you betrayed me? You worthless little, scum-sucking… You wanna know something? Your daddy was a loser too, just like you.” – Uncle Daddy

Suddenly, Bryce yells at Roller that he got his little daughter kidnapped, tackling him to the ground. Bryce, Roller and Uncle Daddy then begin fighting as Whitney Houston’s “I Want to Dance with Somebody” plays at the club. Meanwhile Desna is watching and very annoyed.

Uncle Daddy begins crying after Bryce hits Roller in the head with a bottle, cutting him.

When they come to their senses and stop fighting, Roller tells Uncle Daddy that Desna and Virginia tried to kill him. Desna tells Uncle Daddy, “Who hasn’t?”

She then stares down the gun Uncle Daddy is pointing at her face, telling him to shoot her. However, Uncle Daddy puts the gun down, letting her know that Riva want to see her. Bryce suddenly confronts Jenn about the revelation. Jenn lets him know that she didn’t know about that Virginia and Desna tried to kill Roller until recently. She wanted to tell him once he “came to his senses,” but he never did in her eyes.

Desna calms everyone down and tells them that she will get Brienne.

Desna meets with Riva, and the meeting starts off bad. 

Desna arrives to Riva’s compound and she is immediately grabbed and forced to sit at Riva’s table. Desna isn’t shocked, but rather annoyed that she has another gun in her face.

“I have had white men pulling guns on me all day. Stop trying me.” – Desna

Desna pleads with Riva to know if Brianna is okay, however Riva encourages Desna to join her for coffee. She sees Brienne riding a horse, in riding gear.

Desna offers Riva $250,000, Rivera ignores this and okay’s the other henchman’s request to kill the Brienne. As Riva walks off, Desna screams that she knows what’s on her hands and she can help her.

Bryce confronts Jenn .

Bryce confronts Jenn about not being available when he called. Jenn tells him that she was with Hank from the Messianic Center. Bryce breaks down crying, “you did it,” with Jenn joining him. He tells her it’s his fault and that he pushed her into “being a whore.”

“Well, I rather be a whore, than a murderer.” – Jenn

Bryce stops crying and reminds Jenn that he wouldn’t be a murder if it wasn’t for Desna lying on her foster parents.

Desna gives Riva an intriguing offer.

When they get back to the table, Desna points out the tattoos on Riva’s hand, indicating she is very high up in the Russian mafia. Desna then offers 25% of all of the businesses Uncle Daddy runs and her salon. They end up settling on 50%, and Desna tells her not to worry about getting Uncle Daddy to come along.

“He might not have a choice. You let me worry about that side.” – Desna

Polly helps Marnie get away from her mom, who is trying to sell her. 

Ken stops by Polly’s hotel room so they can spend some alone time together. However, they are interrupted when they see Marnie’s mom showing her off to a man dressed as Elvis. Polly returns outside and gives Marnie’s mom $800 and four vintage Gucci handbags. Marnie’s mother leaves. Polly brings Marnie into her room and consoles her assuring her that life without her mother will be much better. Marnie is still in tears realizing that her mother was trying to sell her for cash for a beach trip.

Circus and Luther return to She She’s to support Uncle Daddy. Desna returns too and tells everyone that Rivs wants either 50% of all of their businesses or Roller’s head. After a small scuffle, Uncle Daddy agrees but wants a sit down with Riva ASAP.

Uncle Daddy thinks he got the best of Riva, but Riva has everything covered. 

The next day, everyone heads down a retirement center to meet with Riva. They walk at Riva’s table and she tells them she changed her mind. She wants Roller’s head. Riva tells everyone that she wants 100% of his businesses or she kills Roller.

After a contemplation, Circus appears at the table and points a gun to Riva’s head. Her goons can’t help because they are occupied with Roller, who gave himself up in exchange for Brienne. However, Circus then turns the gun to Uncle Daddy.

“At the end of the day, I am a business man.” – Circus

Suddenly, Bryce and Ken stab and kill the goons holding Roller. Uncle Daddy stalls until Roller puts the gun on Riva. Suddenly, the old ladies close by pull guns on everyone at the table. Rivera then tells Uncle Daddy they all work for her.

“Now, we can talk.” – Riva

Virginia learns she is pregnant and Uncle Daddy goes to an unlikely source for help with the Russians. 

Days later, everyone is at Glint getting ready to open. Dean arrives in a taxi, excited about marrying Virginia. Desna is happy with his choice and wants him and Virginia to be happy.

While in the bathroom, Virginia, washes her hands in the bathroom and pulls out a pregnancy test she took. It shows she’s pregnant. A frustrated Virginia mutters to herself, “s**t,” throwing the test into the trash.

Desna turns over the keys to Glint to Jenn and tells the girls that she has to stay at the other salon to keep laundering the money from the clinic, per terms of the deal with Riva. Desna then passes the keys to Jenn who passes them to Polly, who passes them to Ann, who then passes them to Virginia. Virginia drops them to the ground, telling Desna that they go where she goes..

“Yall are the baddest b***hes in Palmetto.” – Jenn

Uncle Daddy heads to meet with the Haitians gang because they need help to get rid of Desna and the Russians. When he arrives with Bryce, Ken and Roller, they meet with a man with his back turned. After Uncle Daddy pleads for his assistance, the man turns around revealing his identity.

This man is shown to be Dr. Gregory – Desna’s boo. This surprises Bryce and Roller smirks.
