Issa and her girls get ready for Kiss-n-Grind.
The episode begins with Issa arriving at Molly’s apartment. She walks in hype and dancing, making her presence known. She sings, “Kiss-n-Grind, Kiss-n-Grind,” excited about the party she’s going to with Kelli and Molly.
She walks in to see Kelli in the kitchen, who compliments Issa on her “little booty,” and outfit. Molly walks in next with a robe. Issa pressures Molly to hurry up and get dressed, pulling out a bottle of liquor to drink as Molly walks back to her room.
Molly models a dress she’s thinking about wearing. Issa shoos her off to finish getting dressed, and then shows Kelli a picture of Felix, a guy she met online and will be meeting at the party. Issa tells Kelli that she isn’t pressed about meeting him, because she’s looking to meet other guys too. Kelli’s impressed about Issa’s new-founded outlook on dating saying, “Oh, sh*t, this b*tch building a roster.”
Lawrence gets ready for his crazy night out.
Lawrence is getting ready in his apartment bathroom when Chad calls him. The two of them are planning their night. Lawrence mentions he is ready to hang out, and he tells Chad they should invite their mutual friend. Chad shuts this down, because he doesn’t feel like another altercation with someone tonight. Apparently their friend is a hot head, getting into fights when he goes out.
“I don’t want another Chipotle situation, so f**k him.” – Chad
Lawrence is cool with it and lets him know he’ll cop drinks before linking up with Chad. Chad’s excited to be hanging out with a “reformed” Lawrence.
The girls arrive at Kiss-n-Grind, and Issa crosses paths with Daniel.
Later on, Kelli, Issa and Molly arrive at Kiss-n-Grind. All three of them seem really happy to be there. Issa mentions how “Single Issa” would’ve ended up in a pool at the party, and how she might end up that way tonight. They are heading to table inside, scoping out the men in the party.
Issa interjects that she might “f**k a bouncer” tonight. They only laugh at that for a short time, with Molly bringing up that Kelli got a table far away from the dance floor. After a small hike across the party, they get to the table Kelli purchased. Issa enjoys the Proscecco purchased with the table. Meanwhile, Dro walks up to the table, welcoming them to the party.
Molly asks Dre where Candace is, and Dro says she is in San Diego for work. When he heads back to this party table, Molly follows because his table has chicken fingers. When they leave, two other women try to sit at their table, but Kelli and Issa shoo them off.
Eventually, after Kelli asks about Felix AKA Cat-Bae, Kelli strays from Issa, looking for her own man. So, Issa is by herself at the table feeling awkward. After Kelli leaves, Issa spots Daniel at the bar.
Lawrence gets pulled over.
Meanwhile, Lawrence is driving, and now caught in a road closure because of a bike race in town. When he sees two cars make an illegal U-Turn away from the closure, Lawrence decides to make the same move, but he gets pulled over by police.
Lawrence turns down the rap music he was listening to, and changes it to classical music, as one of the two officers who pulled him over approaches.
Lawrence mentions he is heading grocery shopping, and saw two other drivers pull the same move. The officer asks for his license and registration. He gets out his wallet, pulling out his license, but his debit card falls out from the wallet. When that officer leaves, he tries to clean up his wallet but the second officer yells at him to keep his hands on the wheel.
When the other officer returns, he lets Lawrence go with a warning, citing the Georgetown license plate cover. The officer asks if Lawrence attended Georgetown, and he says, “Uh, yeah.”
“I went to Villanova. We busted your a**es this season!” – Police Officer
Lawrence sigs in relief when they leave.
Issa links up with Daniel and Molly hangs with Dro.
Back at the party, Issa pulls Molly to the side letting her know that she saw Daniel. Molly asked if Daniel saw Issa, and Issa replied, “Depends on how good that n***a’s peripheral vision is.” She then remembers that he got Lasik eye surgery.
Issa decides it would be best if she went ahead and spoke to Daniel so her night won’t be awkward. She heads his way.
They make small talk, with Daniel mentioning he’s there for the DJ, who happens to be a woman. Eventually, Issa gets to the situation, saying she should’ve handled things differently regarding him and Lawrence. Daniel replies, “it’s cool,” smiling back at Issa.
He asks her if she’s cool and she tells him she’s good. Since the conversation isn’t really going anywhere, they politely end it and Issa walks back to the table.
Molly is sitting with Dro at his table, and he is pointing guys out for Molly. He points out one guy, who Molly seemed somewhat interested in, wearing light colored jeans and matching jean jacket. However, Kelli dances over to him. Dro and Molly look on perplexed about the kinds of dancing she’s doing.
He points out another guy and Molly points out how he looks like “a dentist in a strip mall.” She then tells Dro that all guys she dates end up being the same. Right now, she’s just taking her time, not trying to rush into anything.
Lawrence’s day turns after a trip to the grocery store.
Lawrence is at a Trader Joes’s like store, checking out. He’s ready to pay but can’t find his card to pay. He doesn’t realize he dropped his card in the car when he was stopped by the police. Two white women behind him offer to pay for his groceries. After a few moments of back and forth, with Lawrence saying he’ll get it, he obliges to their request, having them handle his bill.
When they get outside, he thanks the ladies and they flirt with him. They mention that they are looking to stay out of trouble, and Lawrence replies, “So y’all are trouble, huh?”
“Man, it sucks that you’re gonna be hanging out with your boy tonight,” says one of the girls. Lawrence then tells them that he can change his plans.
Issa’s day is blown by Felix and Molly gets propositioned by Dro.
Issa is outside by the pool, frustrated with how the night is going. She texts Felix to let him know she’s out there. He replies and shows up a short time later. While she’s happy to see Felix, he isn’t happy to see Issa. He mentions she looks different, not recognizing her. When she tells him she changes up her hair styles, he replies, “Can you change it back?”
After an attempt at small talk, he taps Issa on the shoulder, telling her he will see her around. Issa tries to play this off, but knows she got dissed by Felix, who wasn’t feeling how she looked compared to her photo on Tinder. She feels even more embarrassed when sees Daniel out with a few of his friends by the pool having a good time.
Meanwhile, Dro and Molly are still talking at the table. They’re reminiscing about their childhood and really vibing with each other.
Lil’ Jon and the Eastside Boyz blasts over the speaker and Molly is inspired to dance. She pulls Dro up, heading to the dance floor. They begin to dance, low-key battling each other. When the song changes to “Slow Motion,” they start getting close on the dance floor. After twerking on Dro, Molly starts to feel guilty. She brings up how her friend Candace (who also happens to be Dro’s wife) wouldn’t be pleased with the way they were dancing.
Dro brings up that he and Candace have an open marriage.
“We’re allowed to be with other people. Traditional marriage didn’t work out for us.” – Dro
Molly is surprised by this, but Dro assures her that he and Candace are okay.
“It’s not like we’re hoeing around in these streets. But, if something happens, it happens.” – Dro
Lawrence impresses Chad by telling him the change in plans.
Later that night, Lawrence ended up at the white girl’s apartment. They drank some of the liquor they bought and one of them is rolling a J on an end table.
The other friend comes over to Lawrence asking, “Why are you on the phone?” Lawrence texts Chad that he can make it out because he is at their house. He also tells Chad one of them might be feeling him.
She sees what he’s texting and takes his phone. She takes a selfie of her licking his face. Chad gets excited about his friend’s situation, replying with a gif of Jerome from Martin.
She then starts dancing seductively in front of Lawrence, saying “I like you.” She jumps on his lap kissing him. Suddenly the other friend comes over and they start kissing.
Kelli and Issa listen to Molly’s dilemma, and give her advice.
Kelly and Issa are on their phones, looking disappointed. Molly comes over to tell them that Dro hit on her. They are shocked at this news. Molly explains that Candace and Dro are in an open marriage.
Issa tells Molly that this might be better than doing stuff behind a spouse’s back. Molly asks if anyone is married like her parents are. She just wonders if anyone has a traditional marriage anymore. Issa brings up Derek and Tiffany, and Molly brings up how Derek slept in a hotel for about a year.
Kelli jokes about her possible prospects with Derek, the guy she just met at the party.
“Could I f**k Derek? Would I f**k Derek? Should I f**k Derek?” – Kelli
Issa asks if Molly is considering his proposal, but Molly says no.
Lawrence gets humbled.
Lawrence and the two women end up in the bedroom. One of the women is on top of him, putting in work while the other watches on next to her.
“Your black c*** feels so good in my white p***y.”
She climaxes, with Lawrence shorty behind her. The friends wants her turn, but Lawrence wasn’t ready to go. The second girl gets frustrated about this. Lawrence tells them that he needs some time to get ready again.
This frustrates both of them, who bring up another black guy named LaMarcus. They both agree that LaMarcus was great in bed and could handle them both. They both get up and head to a table to sniff coke. Meanwhile, Lawrence is laying on the bed and seems to feel conflicted about what just happened.
The girls link up with Kelli’s new boo Sweetie.
At the party, Issa is showing Molly her photo for the Tinder profile. Molly mentions that it does look like her, but the braids give her a different look. Kelli walks over, really excited about what happened at the party. She says, “best night of my damn life!” Issa responds, “Mine was the exact opposite.”
Kelli tells them that her guy she met, Sweetie, is going to a restaurant called Swingers and they are going. When they are heading out, Molly sees Dro at the bar closing out his tab. She tells him that they are leaving and her plans for the rest of the evening. He lets her know that he will text her later.
They get to the restaurant and it’s packed. They head to the back of the restaurant where Sweetie is sitting. Molly heads off to the bathroom, and when Issa sits down, she locks eyes with Daniel across the way.
Lawrence reminisces about Issa, but Issa bonds with Daniel.
Lawrence is in his car when Chad calls. Chad gets the play by play, except the humiliating parts. Lawrence tells him it was great how everything happened, even though he still has conflicting thoughts about it. When they end the call, it’s shown that Lawrence is in his car outside of Issa’s apartment complex. He ponders leaving the car to see if she’s home, but decides against it and slowly drives off.
At the restaurant, Kelli and Sweetie are flirting and Dro texts Molly. He asks if she wants company and Molly mulls this over. Eventually, she tells him she’s got work in the morning.
Kelli tries to continue talking to Sweetie, but he had other plans. These plans make Issa feel very awkward, because Sweetie is pleasuring Kelli with his fingers next to Issa. Daniel notices whats going on and texts Issa.
Both of them share a laugh about it and she heads over to his table. Molly rolls her eyes at Issa once she gets to the table.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
Great episode. The fact that Lawrence went to Issa’s place after everything went down, shows he’s not really done with her. I think they will get back together by the end of this season.
I think he just went to Issa’s because those white girls crushed his ego and he wanted Issa to pump his ego back up. If he really wanted her, they would already be back together.
Molly did the right thing. I hope she doesn’t get weak on the next episode though. Open marriage or not, it’s not smart to mess around with a married man.
I think the white girls plot was well thought out. A lot of black men don’t realize that they are fetishized a lot by white people. That’s why it was so pathetic to see Irv Gotti fall right into the trap when he blamed racism on black men dating the Kardashians. It’s like some black men don’t feel they have more to offer than their private parts. But Lawrence was smart enough to feel used while many take pride in it.
This episode was booty. I feel like all the characters are idiotic and overs-xualized now. I actually enjoyed Claws much better last night.
Love the show but hated this episode. It was full of stereotypes and very predictable.
So far, Molly has grown the most while Lawrence and Issa are regressing. That could change next week though.
Sh-t Lawrence is the one going through a hoe phase, not Issa. N-gga had his face all in that stranger white girl’s kitty. The f-ck?
How long will it take Issa to realize she’s better suited for dating than booty calls?
I think this episode just showed that neither Issa or Lawrence are cut out for the single thot life.
I hate to say it but I’m Team Daniel right now. Lawrence is really acting a fool and making some choices I just can’t understand anymore.
