Azealia Banks Vents About Cardi B’s Success + Slams Black Men (UPDATE)

Azelia Banks is making headlines and it’s all because of what she had to say on social media about the rise of Cardi B.

Hours ago, she took to Twitter to call out black men for supporting Cardi and she accused them of showing her more support than they have ever shown a black female rapper.

Hot New Hip Hop writes:

In her latest Twitter rant, Azealia Banks took aim at Cardi’s recent accomplishment. She started off her rant by saying “I’m sorry. Black industry men are too hype for this Latina girl I’ve never seen them jump like this for remy or nicki.” she continued, “Spinning this “for the culture” story when they are simply letting white men at Atlantic buy them into hating their own women”

After this, she targeted Charlamagne Tha God, “Charlemagne and black men in hiphop should have gotten me, remy AND nicki a number one before they gave cardi or iggy one” then continued to say, “But literally white guys buy black men away from black women and it’s soo cringe.”

Eventually one of her fans mentioned the fact that Cardi B is indeed a black woman but Azealia rebutted that. She responded to the person saying, “She’s only black when black want to include themselves in a success story.”

She ended up throwing more shade towards Cardi B after a fan dug up tweets from a few months back that were pretty supportive of the “Bodak Yellow” emcee. After someone began to quote her tweets to prove that she was at one point down for Cardi B, she said “Because I thought she was going to be a Latina hottie and not a poor mans nicki. It went the other way now I’m over it,” and replied to the tweet saying “I wanted spicy Latina and she gave me poor mans nicki.”

UPDATE: Cardi B caught wind of Azealia Banks’ shade on social media, and had the perfect clap back for her. Cardi posted a clip to her IG account of Azealia partying to “Bodak Yellow,” singing all of the hook.

Azealia also doubled down on the criticisms of Cardi B. She posted clips to her IG Live account, where she said Cardi is still a “poor man’s Nicki Minaj,” and has a ghostwriter.

One of the reasons Bodak Yellow went #1! Cuz even the HATERS love it!

  1. I could have sworn Azealia was a fan of Cardi’s at first and even said she should have been on the XXL Freshman cover. I’m not surprised she’s changed her mind because she tends to praise people one second and trash them the next.

  2. Azealia is just being bitter and miserable as always. People need to let Cardi have her moment. Hopefully she will continue this momentum when she drops her album. If not, the same people who stan for her now will call her a flop and drag her.

  3. She went on a whole rant about nothing – while totally evading the fact that she got in her own way. Ain’t nobody about to back a chicken sacrificer. She’s crazy…

  4. She sounds jealous. Cardi annoys me with her Twitter actions but at least she isn’t out here burning bridges like Azealia. Azealia was invited to tour with Nicki but messed that up because she can’t get along with anyone. And she’s dragged so many people on social media that people fear working with her. That’s her own fault.

  5. Why the f-ck did Cardi even respond to Azealia’s looney a-s anyway? She just trolls bigger artists for attention so she can promote her music. The best thing to do is to ignore her.
