Erica and Tina decide what to do about their singles.
The episode opens at Erica’s Mother’s Day celebration. Goo Goo is running down how Erica and Tina ended up releasing their singles the same day.
Tina decided to leave out of frustration, while Warren and Erica talked about it. Warren tells Erica that they can’t move the release date, and they are forcing their fans to choose between them.
Erica and Warryn clash.
The next day, Erica and Tina are rehearsing, but Erica says things are awkward between them. Erica notices that Tina is getting shaky during rehearsal.
“I’ma need you to pull it together Tina.” – Erica
Tina admits that rehearsal is proving to be a difficult task since she hasn’t done it in a while.
Eventually, Tina leaves the session early and Erica is over it.
“I just want to get back to my Tina-free solo career.” – Erica
Warren tells Erica that she and Tina need to get it together for the performance. Erica tells him that she and Tina need to come together and make their performances tight.
This criticism frustrates Erica, who is finding it harder to separate her husband from her producer and pastor.
“Sometimes, I don’t wanna be your artist. I don’t wanna be your church member. I just want it to be us, and I want you to just ask… what I want, just because you want to see me smile.” – Erica
However, Warren says, “Sometimes, I don’t want to do that,” and this sets Erica off. She is getting frustrated with Warren pressing them about getting back in the studio.
Next, Erica and Tina sit down with Tina’s husband and her marketing manager to talk about the single releases. Tina wants to prove to Erica that releasing their singles on the same day is not a big deal.
Erica is still on the fact that their fans may be forced to choose, and it will affect her sales.
However, Stephanie, the marketing manager agrees with Erica.
“You have to keep your identities separate.” – Stephanie
Despite this, Tina still appears to be unwilling to change her date.
Erica comes up with another plan to inspire Tina to record more Mary Mary material.
Later on, Tina is trying to write when Erica stops by.
Erica invites Tina to perform her single at her show in New York. Tina is okay with this, but she doesn’t want an impromptu Mary Mary concert.
“Don’t be bringing me in, trying to bamboozle me.” – Tina
Eventually, it’s the day of their single releases and Erica is doing a full schedule of promo for the single.
Erica slips up, revealing her plan to get Tina to perform as Mary Mary.
During an interview with Tom Joyner, Erica tells his listeners that Mary Mary may perform in New York. However, due to rain, the outdoor performance is cancelled.
This is stressing Erica out as Warryn is looking for an alternative location. This pressure is getting overwhelming for Erica, and she begins to cry about it on camera.
Meanwhile, Tina is with her mom Honey and her son. Tina is not pleased with Erica telling Tom Joyner that Mary Mary is performing. She asks Erica, “How many songs of Mary Mary do you have prepared?”
As Erica runs off the Mary Mary songs, Tina gets even more mad.
“You did not book Mary Mary. Tina came, Mary didn’t come.” – Tina
Despite being overwhelmed, Erica’s plan pays off.
Later on, Honey tells Erica to remain strong under the pressure. But, Erica is struggling to do so, especially when Warryn comes around.
It’s time to hit the stage and Tina performs her single first. As good as the song is, Erica is coming into agreement with Warryn that Tina needs to come back to Mary Mary.
After Tina performs, Erica comes up to the stage and performs her new single.
Warryn says that Erica and Tina are bigger together than apart.
“I don’t want their solo success to be a threat to Mary Mary.” – Warryn
Things get interesting when Erica calls Tina to the stage. Tina is still against performing Mary Mary material.
However, Tina seems to get over herself and performs Mary Mary hits with Erica.
At the end of the performance, Erica gets news that her single is number one, and Tina learns that her single is number two on the charts.
With the good news, He asks Tina if they can work on Mary Mary. Her mom then says they want Mary Mary to get back together.
Pregnancy worries add even more stress to Tina.
Back in LA, Tina tells her mom that she is not feeling good. When she tells her mom she threw up this morning, Honey tells her, “You’re pregnant.”
“I can’t be possibly be pregnant.” – Tina
This stresses her out even further because of everything of what is going on. She and Teddy also says they don’t want any more kids.
Honey suggests a pregnancy test, but Tina dismisses it.
Later on, Tina is on the set for her new music video. When she gets there, she throws up in the bathroom. Goo Goo notices and says, “It sounds a little scary.”
Despite this, the shoot goes on, and Erica stops by. Tina gets annoyed by Erica constantly giving out suggestions. However, even Erica can’t get in the way of the shoot.
But when she starts singing the song, she starts feeling emotions about the past infidelity and possibly being pregnant. As a result, she starts crying. Teddy checks on her, but she is not giving him any details.
After the shoot, Goo Goo finds a pregnancy test in Tina’s purse. After some persuading, Goo Goo gets Tina to take the test.
When she comes out of the bathroom, Teddy sees her holding the pregnancy test.
