Season eight of “Love and Hip Hop New York” has been receiving lots of backlash on social media.
Some fans of the show feel like the current storylines with the current cast members have already been done before with other cities, and many are disappointed that rising rap star Cardi B left the show.
Interestingly enough, LHHNY newbie Anais Matinez has been accused of trying to be another Cardi B and Joseline Hernandez.
Anas is a Dominican singer, and she’s hoping that she will find success in the US.
She took to Twitter recently to clap back at those who are accusing her of being nothing more than an imitator:
But it’s true tho. I doubt she’s always been this ratchet. I think a lot of people like to play a role so they can get a spot on the show. They study who had success and try to duplicate it. That’s why all these shows have the same storylines now. And truth be told, the Atlanta cast is the blueprint despite being the second show in the franchise. Stevie/Joseline/Mimi and em changed the game big time.
Meh.

This show has gotten boring as sh-t.
This cast is awful. I don’t expect Remy to do much because she’s an actual brand now, but they hired too many wannabes from the other shows. That wasn’t a good idea.
