‘Married to Medicine’ Recap: Heavenly Confronts Toya + Simone & Quad Bond over Broken Marriages

Contessa and Toya catch up and discuss Dr. Heavenly.

Toya asks Contessa if she enjoyed meeting everyone at her birthday party, and Contessa says everyone was cool except Dr. Heavenly.

Dr. Heavenly asks her daughter Alaura if she was out of line with her first meeting of Contessa, and her daughter seems to think she’s not telling the whole story.

Contessa tells Simone that she’s confused by Heavenly’s actions because she feels her aggression was unwarranted.

“Sometimes you’re abrasive.” – Alaura

Heavenly tells her daughter that it seems like Toya always has people coming at her and she’s starting to wonder if Toya has an issue with her.

Toya tells Contessa that all she has to do is clap back and Heavenly will respect her.

Toya assures Contessa that clashing is part of being in the group at times but they do all love each other regardless.

Heavenly plans to pull Contessa the side later and try to talk things out.

Quad and Dr. G have a little spat over his new office.

Dr. G asks Quad if she will be coming to the office soon to take down some of the air fresheners she put up. Quad questions if she’s the Air Freshener Girl, and says in a green screen interview that she feels like his assistant most of the time.

She’s not fond of that because she has her own aspirations.

Dr. Jackie wants to plan another FitNi event for the group to take her mind off things.

Her nurse comes in and hands her another gift from Curtis.

Apparently he’s been sending her gifts to the office everyday.

“Curtis can’t buy his way out of this one. No.” – Jackie

Their 15 year anniversary is around the corner and she’s not so sure they will spend it together.

“These gifts don’t change the fact that I’m very upset.” – Jackie

In a green screen interview, she’s still not sure if she wants a divorce or if she wants to try to work things out.

Simone’s son opens up about a possible divorce.

Simone spends some time with her youngest son at a frozen yogurt place, and he tells her that he likes his women “vanilla.”

She reminds him that she’s chocolate so he shouldn’t be against chocolate women, and he tells her, “I settle. I settle.”

He admits that he’s worried about Simone and Cecil getting a divorce, while his older brother seems nonchalant.

Simone says she’s not sure about their future together, and her son tells her that he doesn’t want to ever have to choose who he lives with if they split up.

“Hopefully, that’s not going to be the result.” – Simone

Contessa is trying to balance it all.

Contessa is a primary care doctor and spent some time in the military. She likes to treat her patients like her family, but oftentimes struggles to maintain a balance in her work and home life.

Her husband is a doctor (family medicine) as well.

Toya’s father is still in town from Detroit.

She tells him that Eugene took another shift at the hospital, so they barely see each other.

She says her parents broke up because her mom caught her dad sleeping with her best friend.

Toya admits that she’s only getting intimate with Eugene once a month due to his work schedule.

“I talk to my dad about everything. I really do.” – Toya

They reminisce about the fact that her father would date multiple women at the same time, and she would be in charge of changing out photos at his house so the women wouldn’t catch on.

He denies cheating on Toya’s mother while they were married and said he didn’t start sleeping with other women until they were separated. Toya doesn’t believe this.

She tells him that his actions made it hard for her to trust men.

They toast to the fact that Eugene has been holding Toya down for nine years.

Quad vents about Gregory to Simone.

After Quad tells Simone that Cecil is a good man, Simone tells her that Cecil has other sides to him.

Simone tells Quad that Cecil treats her like crap and blames her for all of their issues when he’s contributed to them.

Quad says in a green screen interview that she used to view their marriage as something to strive to have, but she understands that couples have their obstacles behind closed doors.

She tells Simone she can relate to how she feels because she’s having a similar issue with Gregory.

Quad is upset that she is doing so much of the work around the house and it doesn’t seem like a partnership.

She specifically feels like he doesn’t show her appreciation.

She starts crying and says he also throws in her face the fact that he pays most of the bills, even though she’s offered to handle it herself, and he’s refused.

Dr. Jackie has her FitNi event, Heavenly and Toya clash.

Heavenly says she needs to talk to Toya about what went down with Contessa, but she won’t do it at Jackie’s event.

Contessa later pops up with her husband, and Heavenly looks annoyed.

After the event wraps up, Heavenly confronts Toya.

Toya assures Heavenly that she brought Contessa over to her so they can work things out. But Heavenly says Toya is messy and was just trying to stir the pot.

Toya denies this and reminds Heavenly they have been friends or nine years, so she can’t be that messy.

Heavenly gets up to walk away after she feels like the conversation is going nowhere.

Toya follows and Contessa explains that she feels she overreacted at this point, and she wants to move on from it.

Despite this, Toya and Heavenly keep arguing but Contessa says it’s all on her.

“So let’s move on.” – Contessa

In a green screen interview, Heavenly says she’s willing to move on but she will still give Contessa the side eye.

Simone and Cecil get together to have a FaceTime counseling session with Dr. Ken.

Simone tells Dr. Ken that they are having big blowups over petty issues and their kids are witnessing this.

Cecil says that Simone likes to bring up old issues they haven’t had for years, and it makes him angry.

Simone says that Cecil acts like he’s perfect, so she likes to hit below the belt and bring up his past actions.

“I mean I can’t get this man to say, ‘I love you.’ I mean how hard can it be?” – Simone

Cecil admits that he often looks annoyed when Simone expresses her feelings.

Simone doesn’t feel appreciated, nor like Cecil sees how hard she’s trying to make things work.

Dr. Ken says they are going to have to do some things differently if they want to save their marriage.

Both Simone and Cecil agree.

  1. She is the most annoying woman on the show!! And why does she constantly talk to her daughter like she’s one of her girlfriends? she’s a child she should be talking to one of her adult friends about things like that. that’s why her daughter acts so grown now.

    1. I agree. I don’t think it’s anything wrong with being close with her daughter but, their conversations don’t seem age appropriate. I think Heavenly is insecure. That’s the only reason I can think of for her to be so abrupt and rub ppl the wrong way on the initial meeting. She’s behaved in this manner with every new person she’s met. So rude.
