Trina will be joining many others who have decided to give the “Love and Hip Hop” franchise a shot with her role in the first season of the Miami spinoff.
In a recent interview with Hot 97, Trina explained why she decided to do the show and why fans don’t have to worry about her embarrassing herself on TV:
I took a lot of time to think about it. And they asked me to do it way many years ago, and I was like oh no, I don’t want to be on that. It’s just not for me. All that fighting and carrying on, I’m just not into that. Fast forward to now, Trick called me, Trick had already agreed to do it. He didn’t want to do it unless I did it.
We went back and forth. Back and forth for months. I’m talking about maybe four or five months until it was a deadline.
I was very careful about how I filmed the show. I just did me. I just did what I normally do…I kept to me, where it was respectful. I kept it to a minimum of what I wanted to be seen. It’s not my personal life, I don’t have boyfriend drama and all that. I don’t live my life like that. So I didn’t do anything but give them real. There’s no fake storylines…that’s not me.
She also confirmed that while she has a boo, she won’t be sharing that part of her life on the show:
I am in love. And I am very happy to be in love. I love love. That’s the thing about me.
That’s not a part of the show. That’s my personal life. And I know the show is about our personal but pause.

I hope the money is worth it. I can’t believe how many legit artists are actually doing this now.
I wish she would have continued to pay Mona dust. But maybe she will get the Keyshia Cole treatment and not have to get involved in any foolishness.
I think that’s what she’s hinting at. But I do wonder what happened to those other rappers she was arguing with online. I thought they were on the show too.
Trina will be ok. Trick and her cousin will do all the ratchet stuff for her so this isn’t a bad look for her. This only works when you don’t have to act a fool for a storyline. Keyshia did it and Remy is doing it now. It’s an easy check.
