‘Married to Medicine’ Recap: Simone & Cecil Make Up + Quad and Greg Have No Progress

Greg explains further what happened at the hotel with another woman.

He says he went to the hotel with another woman after meeting her with a friend. The woman got on social media and threatened to expose the situation if she wasn’t paid.

Quad says she didn’t appreciate that she had to hear about it on social media first.

Greg says he was wrong for what he did and “that is not who I am.”

He says he didn’t sleep with the woman and decided to leave the hotel not too long after getting there. The woman then used the receipt to try to blackmail him.

Simone gets angry and snaps on the husbands.

“B*tches are looking for you! They are looking for you! Do you not understand that people are functioning with a motive?” – Simone

“Don’t you think we know that by now?” – Curtis

Mariah says that Greg was straight up wrong.

Greg says he told the whole truth to Quad because he wanted to be transparent.

This angers Quad because she is upset that Greg wants a pat on the back.

“I can’t do this.” – Quad

Curtis says that Greg isn’t really hearing Quad and he’s defending his position because he wants to be right.

“You take ownership and keep ownership of that.” – Curtis

Quad gets ready to get up and leave the stage after Greg tries to place blame on Quad.

“You did it because you wanted to.” – Toya

Heavenly says that Quad and Greg need to “piss or get off the pot.” She doesn’t understand why they are still together.

But Damon says if they are still for each other, they can make it work.

Quad says she feels like she put up a “damn good fight” for their marriage.

She is convinced that Greg will not ever change.

Andy wishes them the best of luck and says that forgiveness is the keyword.

Greg then apologizes for what he did but they are still supposed to be friends.

“The last thing you need to say out of your mouth is but.” – Jackie

Before the break, Contessa walks over to hug Quad and says that they should have all been there for her. Quad breaks down into tears.

Simone and Cecil are up next.

Simone says things have been tough on their youngest son, Michael, who still lives at home.

Their oldest son Miles isn’t as affected because he’s a lot like Cecil and doesn’t express much emotions.

Mariah says it really hurts to see Simone and Cecil go through such a hard time.

A viewer writes in asking Cecil why it’s so hard for him to say he loves Simone. He says it’s part of who he is as a person but there’s really no excuse.

Apparently his parents were the same way.

“I try to show love by actions.” – Cecil

Eugene says that sometimes you have to meet people where they are at and understand that some people just do things differently.

Simone tells Eugene to be quiet.

Toya says that backstage Simone said that Cecil doesn’t act like he wants to be married anymore and she doesn’t want to divorce.

Toya feels like it’s ridiculous that Cecil won’t open up.

She points out that Cecil has no issue saying he loves his best female friend. A flashback clip is then shown of Cecil saying he loves his female friend.

Heavenly says that Cecil should understand that Simone should come first before the female friend.

Cecil says that people have to accept their spouse’s friends.

Simone then snaps and says she has been dealing with some “ridiculous sh*t” and that Cecil says his friend is not the issue.

Toya presses Cecil and asks what’s his issue in their marriage. He says they don’t spend enough time with each other.

He thinks she is just really busy at work and doing the show.

“And I feel neglected.” – Cecil

“That’s not true.” – Simone

Simone says they were having the same issues after they wrapped up filming the season.

Mariah then says that she believes the real issue is Cecil is always so nonchalant. She tells Cecil to give Simone more and show more emotions.

But Simone is over it.

“Leave him alone. We’re done. Don’t change anything, Cecil.” – Simone

Cecil says that when he does say he loves Simone, she says it doesn’t mean anything. He says they wrote love letters to one another at the therapist, Dr. Ken’s, suggestion.

He wrote a very long letter to show her how serious he was.

She says that she’s been telling him for years that he puts other people before her.

Simone did not appreciate that his female friend, Tammy, was over the house for eight days for the holidays even though she lives in Atlanta.

Cecil says he’s willing to fight for their marriage but he doesn’t think she is.

Jackie says if Simone feels unloved, that’s on him.

“Nobody is going to love you like she has loved you.” – Jackie

Simone says that Cecil is full of it and he gets to play golf and hang out with his friends as she works very hard.

“I can’t hang with you because I am working two jobs.” – Simone

She brings up the fact that they have a dog that she didn’t want. But she made sacrifices to take care of the dog anyway in addition to her jobs.

Other cast members intervene on Cecil and Simone’s potential divorce.

Jackie says that sometimes it’s just tiring to be a wife and a doctor.

She says you hope that your husband will understand that.

Eugene points out that they (him, Greg and Damon) lose patients all the time. They feel you still have to put your marriage first.

Cecil says that he and Curtis give their wives a lot of passes. He says you can’t have a bad day everyday.

Damon says you have to make a choice to maintain your marriage.

Mariah says that Simone doesn’t have to explain her work day to be understood.

Damon says marriage is a choice and you must have the energy to make things work regardless of what’s happening on the job.

Simone says they have negotiated all the terms of the divorce themselves. Cecil just needs to sign the documents.

“I’m hoping and praying that we have an uneventful divorce.” – Simone

Quad asks for a break and Simone says she’s done talking about it. Curtis tells Jackie to try to back off and let them figure it out because it’s too late.

But Jackie says Cecil can still not sign the papers.

“Why is he fighting so hard for Tammy? F*ck Tammy.” – Heavenly

Toya goes backstage to talk to Simone and explain that she feels Simone was talking over Cecil and not hearing him out.

Eugene tells Cecil that he needs to end his friendship to Tammy.

She tells Simone that Eugene told Cecil that he has to give up Tammy whether the divorce happens or not.

Cecil says he will but he knows it will be thrown in his face forever even if he does.

Greg says that Tammy is a big issue for Simone and she needs to go.

Toya says that she feels Simone and Cecil can still move forward.

“You want to work as hard as you can on your marriage. It’s 21 years of wasted life.” – Toya

Heavenly says that both spouses must understand that they come before each other’s careers.

“What are you going to do about it? If Tammy is gone, fine, then what?” – Simone

Jackie and Curtis tell Cecil he has to think about their two sons and save his marriage.

Cecil and Simone reveal possible reconciliation.

Simone comes back out and apologizes for going off on Cecil. They hold hands. Cecil apologizes and says he loves her and he doesn’t want to get a divorce. He admits he was being stubborn over something that doesn’t even matter to him. He says he’s willing to do whatever work necessary to stay together.

He’s also willing to remove Tammy from his life.

“Tammy is not that important to me.” – Cecil

Simone says that she wants them both to get individual counseling.

Cecil says Simone has to hear him too. And he feels neglected and wants to do fun things together again.

Simone wants him to be emotionally available to her.

All I ask is you do your part and I do mine.” – Cecil

Simone tells Andy that the divorce is now in limbo.

She admits it’s huge that Cecil is ending his friendship with Tammy. She will tell the lawyer to take the divorce off the table and move forward in counseling.

Simone will now do the work to give Ceil what he needs as well.

They kiss and everyone cheers.

“Don’t talk to each other no more. Don’t f*ck it up.” – Eugene

Cecil thanks the husbands for the support. He sheds some tears.

“I really don’t want to get a divorce, I never wanted a divorce…I mean I’m willing to fight.” – Cecil

Simone says she didn’t expect things to turn out the way they did. Andy thanks the husbands for joining the stage.

The ladies remain without the husbands.

Reunion wrap up:

Contessa learned how to not get hurt by shade thrown her way. She says the ladies are still very supportive.

Mariah says that the pain in the marriages has brought her back emotionally into the group. She wants all the couples to succeed.

Toya now understands that her marriage to Eugene can one day be tested too. She comes down hard on everyone about their marriages because she wants them to be happy like she is.

Heavenly says she feels more comfortable expressing what’s going on with her marriage now that she’s seen Cecil and Simone work things out on stage. She will now be more open.

Quad says that she doesn’t know if she can stay married to Greg.

Simone says deep down inside, a divorce is not what she really wanted. She’s going to call her lawyer tomorrow and end the process.

Jackie is relieved that Cecil and Simone are going to make it. She’s also happy to be back on good terms with Curtis.

    1. True but I thought it was cool that Quad and Greg still wanted to make sure things worked out for Cecil and Simone.

  1. I figured there had to be something much deeper with Simone and Cecil that they weren’t really sharing. It had to be infuriating to see Cecil be closer to another woman than his own wife. And if this Tammy person was a real friend to Cecil she would have never overstepped her boundaries. I have male friends from college. But I don’t overstep boundaries and respect their relationships. Their s/o should be their best friend. Not me.

  2. This was a really good reunion. And that’s because the whole season has been real. A lot of these other so called reality shows need to take note.

  3. I am so glad those two worked it out, I’m sorry about Quad & Greg but Quad is to bitter right now & i think she’s not ready to be someone’s wife & that’s ok because sometimes you don’t know till you’re in it. Hopefully they can both find what they need elsewhere because i can’t take anymore of her whinning.

  4. Heavenly is never going to open up about her marriage. She will keep acting like it’s perfect while tea is all on the internet.

  5. Simone and Cecil’s problems can be worked out so I’m glad they realized that. But it was nice to see everyone try to make them actually talk and LISTEN to each other for once.

  6. Maybe it’s just me but I never got the sense that Simone really wanted a divorce anyway. It just seems like she just went through the motions to get Cecil to straighten up and finally cut off this Tammy lady. She loves that man.

    1. That’s exactly what happened. Cecil already spilled the tea that Simone would threaten to divorce him all the time for years when she got angry with him.

  7. Good a-s season. Sometimes you just have to be real with your friends and check them. I appreciate that everybody checked the f-ck out of Cecil and Simone and refused to let them break up over some bulls-t. That’s real friendship right there.
