Trina Braxton and her ex-husband will be the next reality stars seeking help from Iyanla Vanzant on “Fix My Life.”
From the looks of the preview, Iyanla will have plenty to say about the relationships Trina has with her ex-husband Gabe and her two sons. The clip begins with Iyanla saying, “If I could just whack you upside your head, I would do it.”
During the episode, we’ll see Iyanla work with the estranged couple as they try to get on the same page. They’ll also work to improve their relationship with Trina’s two sons. This appears to be a tough task as Iyanla gets into Trina for not knowing how her sons feel about Gabe.
“For that boy to sit in my face and tell me he hates him, that’s on you!” – Iyanla
It also appears that Iyanla will dive into the pain she and her other Braxton sisters deal with surrounding their parents’ own failed marriage. Fans of “Braxton Family Values” know just how intense the pain gets, and how deep it goes.
From the looks of things, Iyanla may have Trina discover that Evelyn and Michael Sr. may be responsible for the relationship struggles of their children.
“I’m sure your mother would be shocked to hear how she taught you how to be mean and bitter as a woman.” – Iyanla
Of course, this intensity will bring Trina to tears. The episode premieres tonight at 9 PM.
She’s right though. Evelyn is very bitter. And her bitterness has affected her children. But it’s like no one really wants to post this out because Michael Sr. cheated on her. But getting cheated on does not give anyone the right to be bitter for many, many years. At some point you have to decide you’re going to move forward.
You are so right, the mom should have found the courage & strength to move on with her life, he did. That’s how she would have gotten even with him living her happiest life instead of wallowing in bitterness. That stuff is crippling. In all these years she should have found someone to spend it with instead of sitting around a bunch of young women.
Trina must have started sleeping with Gabe again after Black Nasty got locked up.

I mean I do believe Evelyn and Michael are the root of everyone’s problems. Dysfunction impacts children.
Agreed. And she’s always a little too thrilled about any of her daughters divorcing.
I think her bitterness stems from the fact that she saw red flags and still stuck around to have one child after the other. Instead of leaving. Sadly this is the result of many red flags being ignored and now she is bitter
Evelyn has really done a number on her daughters.
I never understood the dynamic between Gabe and Trina.
I actually agree with Iyanla about Evelyn. I just hope she called out Michael too. Him cheating on Evelyn also messed up their kids.

This is a great episode. It has so many relationship dynamics and adds new insight into Evelyn and Michael Sr.’s marriage. Everyone knows Michael cheated, but I have a feeling even before that happened Evelyn was something to behold. Her and Sr. have been divorced 18 years and she is still bitter. It’s obvious that Trina didn’t want to expose the fact that her demeaning and abusive way of treating Gabe is a by product of her mother. Now knowing some of Gabe’s upbringing it explains his detached demeanor. I agreed when Iyanla told Trina to let Gabe and Caleb work out their issues without her involvement.
