Most fans of “Black Ink Crew Chicago” know the history between Ashley and Don.
The biggest obstacle for the couple has been infidelity on Don’s part.
After a woman claimed she was pregnant with Don’s baby, Ashley decided it was time for a separation.
Eventually, Don learned that the woman wasn’t pregnant with his child. As a result, he and Ashley eventually got back together.
This led to some backlash but Ashley feels like she made the best choice for her own life.
And she wants others to do the same.
Here’s what she told VH1 in an interview:
I just want people to understand that when you see me and Don going though what we’re going through, it’s not to tell you to do what I did..follow in my footsteps, take your husband back. Or take your boyfriend back.
I’m not telling you to do exactly what I did. I’m telling you to follow your heart whether that’s take your significant other back and be with them or if you don’t want to be with them just leave.
Things worked differently for me and Don. I followed my heart and my heart led me to still be with my husband. That’s where I’m at today.
