Walter is coming into town.
Toya and Red take their daughter Reign to a petting zoo. After Reginae struggled to ride a horse during their glamping trip, Toya figured it would be smart to get Reign comfortable with animals at a young age. After Rein enjoys herself, Red and Toya discuss the fact that Toya’s dad Walter is coming into town.
She’s happy that they are working on their relationship. But she does worry that her mother Nita may clash with her Walter.
TI challenges King.
While TI is driving around with King and Major, they discuss King’s career. Although King wants his parents to invest in his career, TI doesn’t think King is ready for that until he can sell out arenas. King needs to at least sell out a 300 seat venue on a weekday to make him consider it.
It’s time for a plan B.
Monica is in the process of figuring out the artwork for her next album. She didn’t have a choice in matters like this in the past, so she’s happy she does now as an independent artist.
She wants the album to feel like hope now that she’s gaining independence in every area of her life. Although she wanted to release her album before her birthday and told her fans she may do so, this may not happen. So she knows she needs to have a plan B.
TI wants Tiny to stand down.
Tiny tells TI that she knows about his wager with King. She doesn’t think it’s fair to tell King he has to sell out a show on the weekday. TI says Tiny backseat drives when it comes to him teaching King how to be a man and this irritates him. So he tells Tiny that it was actually King who said he could sell out a show on a weekday.
He wants Tiny to let him and King figure things out on their own.
Nita learns Walter is coming to town.
Toya checks in on her mother Nita. She wants to know how Nita has been doing since the trial. Toya didn’t want Nita to have a relapse, thankfully she didn’t. Nita has been clean for the last two years. This doesn’t stop Toya from worrying about her though.
They discuss Toya’s dad Walter. Toya says that she’s inviting Walter to her housewarming party. Nita says Walter cheated on her and that caused their breakup. She had six kids with Walter, and Water has about 21 kids in total.
Regardless of past issues, Nita may show up to the housewarming party.
LeToya, Toya, and Tiny go to a pizza-making class.
Toya invites them to her housewarming party. Tiny is happy to see Toya in a much better place with her parents.
Tommi is discussed. LeToya tells them it’s been a little rough between them. She doesn’t like that Tommi struggles to apologize. She thinks Tommi needs to also go to counseling on his own, and not just depend on couple’s counseling.
Tommi doesn’t like to talk about things they already discussed in the past. Tiny can understand and says that she used to shut down in therapy. But she saw an improvement once she stuck with it, so she knows Tommi will as well.
Tiny informs them about King and TI’s wager. She’s hoping for the best.
King is sorting things out.
Later on, King tells TI that he’s looking into Houston, Chicago, and Chattanooga as places to perform. King made this decision by looking at his social media analytics. He’s also been in touch with a promoter in Chattanooga. Since King didn’t know that Tennessee is a state and not a city, TI is a bit concerned. So he’s pop quizzes King about other cities.
Men are very interested in Monica.
Monica is only a few weeks away from her release date, so she’s going to push the album back. She refuses to rush it just to put it out before her birthday. She’s naming the album Chapter 38 since so much has changed in her life at that age. Turning 39 soon won’t change that.
She’s been getting DMs of men who are interested in dating her. It was odd at first, but it was a little bit of an ego boost. But at this point, Monica isn’t ready to date. Her divorce needs to be finalized first.
Walter arrives.
Beedy and Toya discuss how weird things are going to be when Nita and Walter are reunited for the housewarming party. Walter is still flirty with Nita. And she could still have feelings for him.
Not too long after, Walter makes it to the house. He jokes that the next time he sees Toya, he will be giving her away at her wedding. In a green screen interview, Red says that although Walter is joking, he really does intend to propose to Toya very soon.
King has concerns.
King tells Zonnique about the challenge TI gave him. At this point, King is having second thoughts.
So he ends up talking to TI about his concerns. Regardless, TI tells King that he still has to sell out a 300 people show.
Monica shares some scary news.
Toya and Red are excited to have their families over at their new house. However, Toya is disappointed that Nita didn’t show up to the housewarming party yet.
LeToya and Tommi get there. They are going to keep it together regardless of their current issues.
Monica comes as well and tells LeToya and Toya that her son Rodney had a seizure. It was a very scary moment. This happened in the middle of a conversation they were having. He just fell out on the floor and he had a seizure.
She breaks down in tears talking about this. LeToya and Toya console her.
Monica will spend more time at home to make sure Rodney is recovering well.
Nita shows up.
Not too long after, Nita actually arrives at the housewarming party. She goes on and on about how Walter has 21 kids. Toya calls Nita out for showing up drunk. So she takes Nita away to have a moment to get herself together.
Walter is confused by all of this but Reginae and Beedy explain to Walter that he’s put Nita through a lot of hurt over the years. So this is why she felt the need to drink before she saw him.
