Changes were made on “The Chi.”
Showtime’s hit show “The Chi” is back. The show was in the headlines after one of its biggest stars was fired from the show. Jason Mitchell portrayed Brandon Johnson in seasons 1 and 2. He was removed after his costar Tiffany Boone (she portrayed Brandon’s girlfriend Jerrika Little) accused him of harassment. She and the season 2 showrunner Ayanna Floyd Davis filed a complaint.
After Mitchell’s departure, some other cast changes were made. “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss was added. And so was “Power” star La La Anthony.
La La portrays Dominque “Dom” Morris.
Dominique is a talented chef but her ambitions could very well land her in some serious trouble soon.
La La claps back.
While La La starred in the final season of “Power,” she got a lot of criticism on social media. Some viewers were annoyed with her character, Lakeshia Grant’s, choices on the show. So they had no problem calling her out often on social media.
Others came for La La’s abilities as an actress. And oftentimes the comments were nasty. Despite the criticism, La La had supportive fans and co-stars who enjoyed working with her. Plus, her acting resume continues to lengthen.
This is probably why she was unbothered when a Twitter user came for her latest acting role. The viewer hopped on Twitter to ask why they have to see La La on “The Chi.” They aren’t happy to see her on the latest season. When La La spotted the tweet, she responded. She wrote, “Cuz I booked the job boo.”
