Candiace Dillard was devastated by her altercation with Monique Samuels.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dillard is having an emotional season. Things with Monique have taken a turn for the worst. Not only were they not able to mend their friendship, but things actually turned violent. What seemed like just another argument went left fast. And Candiace is still in disbelief that she was assaulted by someone she used to be so close to. In fact, Monique and Candiace hung out with each other plenty outside of the show. Even their husbands formed a friendship. So the situation has been a lot to deal with.
After the assault happened, Candiace came to the decision to press charges. This is after she began to feel as if Monique would never reach out to her to apologize and discuss the issue.
Interestingly enough, Monique filed a countersuit. And all charges against both ladies were dismissed.
Porsha Williams criticized Candiace Dillard for pressing charges.
While the move to take things to court seemed right to Candiace, some fans of the show have criticized her choice. They feel as if things shouldn’t have gone that far.
In fact, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams is someone who shared that opinion.
She has discussed the altercation on “Bravo’s Chat Room” with her cohost Gizelle Bryant.
Porsha is friends with Monique, so her feelings on the situation probably don’t really come as a surprise to most fans of the show. However, Candiace took issue with Porsha saying that she heard that Candiace filed charges for financial gain. And she was told Candiace took things to court to get money for a down payment for her new house.
When Gizelle disagreed with this, Porsha said that she heard this from Monique.
Porsha also said that she didn’t understand how Candiace was traumatized from getting her hair pulled.
Candiace Dillard responded to Porsha Williams’ comments.
In response to this, Candiace came for Porsha during her interview with the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast. She called Porsha a sidekick. And she also said that wild people defend each other and she seemingly criticized how Porsha was raised.
Now Candiace had more to say.
During an interview with Page Six, she said that it’s untrue that she tried to sue Monique to secure a down payment.
“Yes, I responded in an interview because it’s one thing for you to defend your friend, it’s one thing to talk general smack about me in defense of your friend, but when you flat out lie, yes, I’m going to address it.”
She continued, “She should be careful about the lies that she tells. It’s a very dangerous move.”
As of now, Porsha has not responded to Candiace’s comments.
