Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard failed to fix their friendship.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” is in the middle of an explosive season. It all started after Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard got into a physical altercation while filming. The two women were working on fixing their friendship. However, Monique got upset about Charrise being invited to Candiace’s anniversary party. Monique felt like Candiace was shady to not give her a heads up about Charrisse’s invitation.
According to Monique, Charrisse had been instrumental in spreading rumors about her and her trainer. So she couldn’t understand why Candiace would want Charrisse there without telling Monique she had been invited. In her opinion, the move seemed very messy. And it didn’t help things that Gizelle Bryant also told Monique that she heard that Candiace got closer to Charrisse after having issues with Monique. Ashley Darby said she heard that Candiace befriended Charrise to spite Monique.
As for Candiace, she took issue with Monique being critical of her and her treatment of Ashley. In fact, Candiace felt like she had been more loyal to Monique than Ashley ever was. While Candiace feuded with Ashley over her attempt to get pregnant, she couldn’t understand why Monique would feel bad for Ashley after she accused Monique of possibly drinking and driving.
So things only got worse at the winery after Gizelle asked where the two women stood on their friendship.
Gizelle Bryant has been accused of plotting on Monique Samuels.
It didn’t take long for the women to pick sides after the altercation took place. Gizelle flat out said she didn’t want to be around Monique anymore. She said that doing so would be detrimental to her image. And not only did she need to protect her own image, but she needs to protect Jamal Bryant’s image as well.
Gizelle was called out for this by some fans of the show on social media. but she still maintains that Monique needed to face consequences for putting her hands on Candiace. Regardless, there were fans of the show who pointed out that Gizelle’s father Curtis Graves’ comments about Jamal were more damaging to Jamal’s image than Gizelle hanging around Monique.
Regardless, Monique took it personally that Gizelle seemingly iced her out of the group. She also took issue with Gizelle criticizing her as a mother as well. Then there’s also the revelation Candiace made on Instagram Live in which she said that there was a plot to say Baby Chase wasn’t Chris Samuels’ son. The allegation also accused Monique of having an affair with her trainer. And that the accusations were going to be brought on the show.
The original source of the accusations was said to be Monique’s former friend.
Karen Huger would later come out and say that Gizelle was the one who spearheaded the plot to get the accusations on the show.
It was discussed at a dinner after some of the ladies attended Andy Cohen’s baby shower.
Jamal Bryant’s response to Monique Samuels resulted in backlash.
So when it was time to film the reunion, Monique came for Gizelle. And Jamal was not spared either. While reading text messages from her binder, Monique accused Jamal of telling an ex-girlfriend that his reconciliation with Gizelle was just for television. She also accused Jamal of sleeping with his congregation.
In response to this, Jamal accused Chris of having CTE and trying to attack Robyn Dixon and Gizelle at the reunion. He also accused Chris of “verbally assaulting” a black woman at Safeway.
Monique has since denied these allegations against her husband.
Interestingly enough, there’s another rumor going around about Jamal. And it was alleged that he is being fired from New Birth Missionary Baptist Church after he received some backlash for the video he made after the reunion.
However, a source EXCLUSIVELY tells Urban Belle that Jamal’s job is not on the line. And he will not be fired for the comments and accusations he made in the video.
With two more parts left of the reunion, it’s clear that the fallout from the current season will only continue.
