It’s early May 2020 on tonight’s “Queen Sugar.” Everyone in St Joes is trying to hang on as they deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ralph Angel is getting into a groove at his new job. While at work, he meets a man named Reggie. Due to the virus, he believes he’s unable to spend his birthday with his wife suffering from Dementia. However, Ralph Angel pulls a surprise. Ralph Angel’s also inspired to move up his wedding with Darla.
Next, Calvin convinces Nova to allow his daughter Charlotte to quarantine with them. When Charlotte arrives, she and Nova hit it off better than anyone expects.
Charley and Micah’s time together in quarantine is tested when Charley goes off on Micah as he catches Charley listening to a voice text. As Charley apologizes, she speaks to a time when she was pregnant with Micah while in college.
Lastly, as Aunt Vi convinces Prosper to spend time with her in St Joes, Hollywood gets horrible news when he visits his mom in Baton Rouge. She’s in the hospital with symptoms from Covid-19. Things look bleak and Hollywood prepares for the worst.
