Bravo responds to the backlash.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore had a lot of people talking after the latest episode. While viewers already had plenty to say about her role in the Bolo situation, as well as her growing frustrations with LaToya Ali, they also were vocal about her Halloween costume. Kenya came to Falynn Guobadia’s party dressed up in a Native American costume.

People took to Twitter and other social media platforms to accuse Kenya of cultural appropriation.

In fact, some of her cast members called her out about this, too. Even her former friend LaToya.

Well, after Bravo was also held accountable for Kenya’s choice of costume, the network decided to address it.

In an Instagram post, Bravo wrote, “Bravo aims to have the highest standards of respect and inclusivity and we recognize that the recent episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, in which a cast member wears a Native American costume, did not uphold these values. We had hoped it would provide a teachable moment, however, in retrospect, it is clear that the network did not address this properly given the gravity of the situation. We apologize to both the Native American community and our audience as a whole.”

UPDATE: Kenya issued an apology on Twitter.
