Yandy Smith was hurt by Mendeecees Harris’ comments on “Couples Retreat.”
Mendeecees Harris has been receiving backlash from “Love And Hip Hop New York” fans. While appearing on “Couples Retreat” with Yandy Smith, the couple got real about the issues in their relationship. For Mendeecees, he clashed with Yandy while he was in prison. At times, he felt like Yandy didn’t reach out to him enough. He wanted her to answer his phone calls more. Plus, he questioned why she didn’t send him more emails.
Yandy said that she feels she spoke to Mendeecees every day. But he should be more understanding of the fact that she was busy running multiple businesses, taking care of their children, and making sure that the bills were being paid.
Since she wasn’t sure if Mendeecees understood how much she had to do to hold him down while he was locked up, she asked Mendeecees if he would hold her down if the roles were reversed.
In response to this, Mendeecees said, “If the shoes were on the other foot, you know, I don’t know what I would be able to do.”
Yandy broke down in tears about this in a green screen interview, “So Mendeecees finally admitted that he doesn’t know if he would have stayed if the roles were reversed. And that’s so hurtful because people have said to me, ‘You doing all this but would he do that for you?’ And I’ve always combatted with, ‘He would. We love each other.'”
She went on to say that what Mendeecees said was “unfair” to her.
Mendeecees Harris explained what he meant.
Well, Mendeecees received backlash for his comments. So he took to Instagram to explain what he meant. He said, “FYI: I never said I wouldn’t hold Yandy down. I felt like I didn’t want to say what everyone wanted me to say because it sounds good and salacious. What I meant was: you don’t know what you’ll do until you are in that situation and they become your circumstances and you figure it out. I believe action speaks louder than words and love conquers all and if anybody knows me, they know I love my family!”
He added, “However, thank you for tuning in @vh1 couples retreat, make sure y’all tune in next week @ 8 pm.”
