Phillip gives Shawndreca props.
Torin and Phillip recap their tense conversation with Kandi and Don Juan. At this point, Torin feels like Phillip is fake and rude. And he doesn’t see how they can ever be cordial. As for Phillip, he says he’s not going to deal with Torin. So Torin needs to report to someone else. But Kandi isn’t having this. She tells him he’s going to have to figure things out with Torin.
Dom’Unique is very late to work one day. So the restaurant doesn’t have a bartender. Brian says Brandon allows her to do whatever she wants to do when he’s supposed to be the general manager. And he calls Dom’Unique out about this. So they have a little tension.
Shawndreca has the same observation. So she tells Phillip that Brandon lets Dom’Unique do what she wants. Phillip tells Brandon he needs to get things on track. And the staff is lacking professionalism. But Phillip does give Shawndreca credit for her progress.
Brian and Brandon have tension.
Melvin, Patrick, Brandon, Dom’Unique, and Brian all head out for drinks. Shawndreca arrives a little later with her fiancé June. In a green screen interview, Shawndreca reveals Patrick and June got into a physical altercation. But she believes June isn’t insecure about her past romance with Patrick.
During their shifts, Brian and Rashard sit at the bar. Brandon tells them they have to get up because it looks unprofessional. And the rule is they can’t sit at the bar during their shifts. So Brian points out that he’s seen Brandon sit at the bar. He doesn’t see the difference.
In a green screen interview, Brandon says he can sit anywhere he pleases because he’s the manager. And he didn’t like Brian’s behavior in front of customers. He tells Phillip about this, and Phillips reports back to Don Juan.
Phillip and Don Juan clash.
Don Juan calls a meeting with Phillip, Brandon, and Brian. Phillip gets straight to the point and says Brian is completely unprofessional. They start arguing. And Phillip wants Brian to be suspended. Brian gets angry and screams, “For what?” So Don Juan tells Brian they need to talk outside.
Brian tells Don Juan that Phillip is very rude. But Don Juan wants Brian to take responsibility for his actions. In a later conversation, Don Juan tells Phillip he’s seen him involved in multiple arguments at OLG. And he may be the problem since people take offense to how he talks to them.
But Phillip thinks the issue happens to be that OLG employees aren’t professional. So they don’t like that he’s there to demand more.
The conversation becomes tense. Phillip becomes frustrated and storms out of the restaurant. Don Juan is surprised by this.
Phillip decides to do a redo with Don Juan. And he acknowledges that he didn’t handle their previous conversation well.
Aunt Bertha can’t stand Phillip.
Patrick is smitten by his girlfriend Safari. He loves how well-rounded she is. She reminds him so much of all the women in his family. Safari owns a body sculpting business. She tells him that she doesn’t want Shawndreca at his house warming party. Patrick is fine with this.
After Shawndreca hosts a water aerobics class for all of the ladies, they discuss OLG. Shawndreca confirms Brian was suspended by Phillip. But they’ve coexisted ever since their blowup because Shawdreca just does her job and avoids Phillip now.
Mama Joyce says this just shows that Phillip’s stern ways of managing are more effective than people realize. And while she and Aunt Nora like Phillip, Aunt Bertha says she can’t stand him.
Brian went through a lot.
Brian and Torin meet up for a bite to eat. Both aren’t really feeling their second attempts at OLG yet. And Brian is currently on suspension after his situation with Brandon and Phillip. Brian is trying to stay positive. He doesn’t want to go back to a dark place. At one point, he was drinking so much alcohol that he was having serious health issues. And he’s still mourning his sister’s death. She died by suicide.
Torin tells Brian he loves him and he’ll always be there to support him.
