The RHOP cast felt Candiace Dillard went below the belt amid her feud with Mia Thornton.
Candiace Dillard has a rule she likes to follow on “Real Housewives of Potomac.” She’ll be friendly to her costars until they come for her first. Then the gloves are off. And her words are her favorite form of weaponry. Candiace’s ability to hit people where it hurts verbally has made her a controversial housewife. However, Candiace doesn’t believe it’s fair to give her a villain label when she’s defending herself. Plus, as she has pointed out, she’s not the only RHOP who can cut people with words. So when the cast tried to call her out for her response to Mia Thornton, Candiace wasn’t having it. She reminded them of the times they have also hit below the belt.
After the RHOP cast told Candiace she was wrong to bring Mia’s mother into their feud, her fans began to question the authenticity of her friendships on the show. Many felt that newbie Askale Davis was the most loyal. In fact, when Candiace was criticized for calling Mia’s mother low budget, Askale was quick to remind everyone about Mia’s actions. And Askale said it was also hurtful for Mia to call Candiace’s “Drive Back” music video low budget.
Askale didn’t understand why Mia’s feelings were supposed to be more important than Candiace’s. And she drove home the point that Candiace’s music is her passion. So it was hurtful that someone she invited to witness her passion so intimately would then be so critical of it.
After Askale Davis isn’t asked back for season 7, Candiace Dillard told a fan the proper plan of action.
Interestingly enough, Askale didn’t get much camera time at the reunion. Mia shaded Askale about this but fans still anticipated that Askale would be asked back for the upcoming season. She’s pretty close to Candiace and Wendy Osefo. And they would hang out even when they aren’t filming.
Well, blogger TV Deets recently reported that Askale was the only cast member who was not asked back for season 7. All the other women are returning.
Some of Candiace’s most loyal fans are not happy about Askale’s dismissal. So they had a lot to say in the comments after Candiace posted a clip of Askale’s appearance on her podcast, “So That’s What We’re Doing?”

Is Wendy not Candiace’s real friend? Anyway, Askale really didn’t bring much and that’s why she didn’t get a lot of screen time. You can’t be a newbie and not involve yourself in drama and expect them to bring you back. Compare Askale’s first season to Mia, Eva, Drew and Candiace’s and then it should be understood why she wasn’t asked back.
Candiace’s stans don’t like Wendy as her friend because Wendy won’t agree with everything she does. They were mad that Wendy said Candiace did too much when she came for Mia’s mom. Real friends call you out when you’re wrong. Going along with everything your friend does makes you a puppet.
I’m glad all the housewives are returning. I don’t feel we learned enough about Askale for me to miss her. But maybe it’s a blessing that she wasn’t asked back. Being on these shows may have perks like the spotlight and money, but it does a number on most marriages.
I don’t mind Askale as long as we can see more. I don’t like it when they only give these girls one season. At least give people two seasons to prove themselves.
Askale went along with everything Candiace did last season. She didn’t tell her she was wrong about anything. That is not what RHOP needs, especially when the fans accuse Robyn of doing that for Gizelle every season even though we’ve actually seen Robyn tell Gizelle’s she is wrong about things.

So they want Askale back on the show so she can continue to kiss Candiace’s a-s and blindly defend everything she does. This is why stans aren’t responsible for casting decisions.
@ Anon They know Robyn calls out Gizelle but they ignore it to keep their narrative going. Askale is much worse than they think Robyn is. The fact that they want her back to be Candiace’s “loyal friend” like Wendy doesn’t hold Candiace down is telling. The only thing Wendy hasn’t defended Candiace about is the “your mother” thing now they don’t think she’s a real friend. It’s so childish
Aww Candiace has a real friend in Wendy. And she can handle herself very well anyway. I’m glad all the wives are back. As long as Askale didn’t burn bridges, she can still come back at some point.
I agree that everyone deserves two seasons. She didn’t get much of a chance in my opinion.
I still want Candiace and Ashley to be friends. They would read the girls down and dominate as a duo. Crossing my fingers that it happens one day. Ooh and add Wendy and it’s the perfect trio. ?
