Monique Samuels got real about her marriage during a recent interview.
Chris Samuels and Monique Samuels are returning to television. The couple is a part of the “Love & Marriage: DC” cast. This is the very first “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” spinoff. After the announcement was made, Monique told fans they will see a different side to their marriage. In her opinion, LAMDC is allowing her and Chris to be their true selves. Interestingly enough, Monique didn’t think RHOP was a platform that allowed that kind of transparency.
Well, Monique opened up about the new show in a recent interview. She appeared on Carlos King’s podcast, “Reality with The King.”
While they were talking about the show, Monique said filming started while she and Chris were going through a rough time.
“But let me tell you, ‘Love & Marriage: DC,’ they caught Chris and I at one of the most challenging times in our relationship. And it’s funny because the beginning of the year is always a rift for us. So I remember when you said we’re gonna start filming in January. And I was like, ‘Ooh Lord.'”
She continued, “I was texting you like Carlos I don’t know…I was like, ‘Woah. Come get this dude.'”
Carlos chimed in, “Monique was like, ‘Carlos I’m going to Arizona for two weeks…by myself because I need to save my marriage. But in order for that to happen, I have to be okay with me.'”
Monique said she was there for five nights and went to a meditation resort. She needed to understand herself more so she could figure out what she needs from Chris for their marriage to work. And she believes that viewers will see that she and Chris were off-balance during the upcoming season. So work was required to get back on the same page.

This is not the first spinoff. There was one season of Love & Marriage: Charlotte. I’d hoped for more.
They really need to be careful because reality shows are the kiss of death for most marriages. I wish them well.
I hope this one is better than Huntsville. Starting to hate LAMH.
RHOP did not strengthen their marriage clearly so why signup for another reality show? I hope it will be worth it for them – they have too much to lose.
Monique wants to be a star at any cost…..,
I agree with Sexy Lexie.
