Famous is arrested.
After Ronnie kills Deen he steals a car from an unknown man. He drives the vehicle to Unique’s place to tell him he’s done waiting around for Unique to look out for him. He’s going to take the car and flip it for quick cash. Unique can only shake his head at his big brother’s lack of patience as he watches him drive off.
Marvin and Gerald go out for a bite to eat and discuss their daughters. Gerald agrees that Jukebox could be a great topic for the newspaper he works for. However, Marvin cuts the conversation short when Gerald tells him that Deen was recently killed.
When Raq goes to her new commercial property, she sees the windows have been busted out. The two police officers Raq already had the displeasure of meeting tell her they could keep an eye out on her building for the right price. And they won’t report her building’s violations if she agrees to the deal. Raq tells them she doesn’t need their assistance.
While Famous is out running his and Kanan’s weed delivery hustle, he is arrested by nearby officers.
Kanan officially meets Ronnie.
Marvin goes to Raq’s new business to give her the news about Deen. He says Deen was giving him product to sell to get back on his feet. But he’ll be fine because things look promising with the bar he’s now going to run with Lou Lou and Shirley. He invites Raq to come to their first Hip Hop night but she’s not interested. Instead, she says, “**** Lou.” And she tells Marvin he’ll never see the money he loaned Lou ever again.
Unique takes Ronnie to the Chinese restaurant he’s planning to use to sell drugs. However, Ronnie isn’t impressed because the place isn’t currently getting much business. So he accuses Unique of having another income stream he’s hiding. When Unique says this is the only hustle he has that can work with some patience, Ronnie once again accuses Raq of playing Unique and hurting their pockets. And he doesn’t believe it when Unique explains Raq is out of the game. So the tension is thick between the two brothers.
Famous is questioned by the police. He is asked if he knows someone named Freddy Williams. Famous denies knowing the person even though they went to the same high school. Regardless, the officer says an incident report said Famous was at Freddy’s house a few days before he was shot. Famous stands firm and says there is no proof he was there the day of the shooting.
Ronnie rolls up on Kanan while he’s speaking to his weed couriers and demands to know if he works for Unique. Kanan says he only works for himself. Ronnie then says this can’t be true because he’s too young to be moving heroin on his own. Kanan is taken aback and questions why Ronnie thinks he’s moving heroin.
Juliana tries to stir the pot between Ronnie and Unique.
Lou Lou’s mind is still on the bar and expansion. He stops by their mom’s house (Joyce) to take some old records he feels the bar could use. Joyce tells him not to take anything since he and his siblings don’t look out for her in her older age. She questions why he’s still chasing dreams of music when his father died doing the same. Lou says passion for music didn’t take out his father and leaves her some cash.
Kanan doesn’t show up to the home meeting they had scheduled with the social worker. Luckily, she tells Raq she won’t report this. But she won’t have a choice if Kanan doesn’t show up next time. And his failure to show up means he will be removed from Raq’s home. Raq guarantees Kanan won’t miss the next one.
Ronnie approaches Juliana to tell her it looked as if she wanted to say something to him even though her brother refused to do business. Juliana tells him he will always be Unique’s brother but they aren’t the same person. So this doesn’t mean they can’t get money together. Juliana tells Ronnie she was married until her husband went away. And Ronnie can make Unique go away if he wants to. Ronnie tells her Unique isn’t going anywhere before leaving.
Kanan and Famous continue to have tension.
Famous is released and makes it back to his apartment. Kanan confronts him for the recent arrest. Famous confirms their weed business isn’t in trouble. He was arrested because of Freddy’s shooting and he killed him. And he feels like Kanan was a lousy friend for not bailing him out. Regardless, Kanan tells Famous not to mess up his business and he has to die with that secret. No one else needs to know what happened to Freddy. Kanan’s lack of concern for Famous rubs him the wrong way.
Raq and Unique see each other at Deen’s funeral. When they are alone outside, Unique confirms that Ronnie did the deed. Raq tells him that Ronnie is going to have to be handled for killing Deen.
After Ronnie tells Pernessa that Unique has been sleeping with Raq, she confronts him about it. She tells Unique sleeping with Raq makes no sense when they were enemies not too long ago. Plus, Raq had their car shot at while their child was in the car. Unique leaves swiftly to find Ronnie.
Jukebox and her group member Iesha bond after Iesha struggles with the dance routine at rehearsals. Marvin looks on as a proud dad as he watches Juke and Iesha say their goodbyes. Jukebox invites Iesha to the Hip Hop night at Cafe Vous. She accepts. When Juke gets into Marvin’s car, Marvin tells her she got her excellent taste in women from him. And she can talk to him about her dating life. Regardless, Jukebox smiles and tells him it’s not like that.
Ronnie and Unique’s feud escalates to a point of no return.
Although Raq ends up changing her mind about heading to Cafe Vous, the feds stop by her house to ask if they can ask her some questions about a past shooting. She calls her attorney to sit in on the conversation. When she’s asked why she owned such a large share of Camacho’s record label, Raq says she and Lou Lou just wanted to increase their investment. But that doesn’t link them to the shooting.
Back at Cafe Vous, the Hip Hop night goes off without a hitch. And Jukebox tells Kanan it’s okay for him to shoot his shot with Iesha because they’re just friends.
Unique makes it to Ronnie’s location. He confronts him for killing Deen and telling Pernessa he slept with Raq. Ronnie tells Unique he failed to keep their drug business going after he was locked up. Then a fistfight ensues. Unique is victorious but Ronnie grabs a pipe to bludgeon him with when he turns to walk away. At the end of the episode, Ronnie drops off Unique’s body amongst trash bags.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
