Candiace Dillard Bassett reveals she will not return to “The Real Housewives of Potomac.”
It appears Candiace Dillard Bassett is ending things on a relatively high note. Candiace recently told People Magazine that she will not return for the ninth season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” This stunning news comes out as RHOP’s season eight finale premiered.
Candiace issued the following statement to People:
“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” Dillard Bassett, 37, says.” With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”
Candiace did leave the door open for a return in the future.
She goes on to tease that her exit might only be temporary, noting, “This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later.’ “
RHOP Producers confirm Candiace Dillard Bassett was not fired.
There were rumors on social media that Candiace would take a step back after this season to focus more on her music and acting career.
In her last two seasons with RHOP, Candiace dealt with multiple allegations that she caused the physical altercation that occurred after the Season 8 taping wrapped. She also dealt with allegations that her husband, Chris Bassett, harassed Gizelle Bryant and cheating allegations that have since been proven false.
As of now, neither Bravo nor RHOP Producers have spoken out about casting for Season 9. No other cast members have spoken about their contract status as well.
I’m going to miss her so much. I couldn’t stand Candiace when the Monique stuff happened. But she really became one of my favorites because I get her now. Wishing her the best and happiness in her next chapter.
