RHOP ratings take another dip.

Real Housewives of Potomac” is back for Season 9. Many fans wondered how the season would play out since OG Robyn Dixon and veteran Candiace Dillard-Bassett made their exits. Candiace left by choice to focus on her pregnancy while Robyn confirmed she wasn’t asked to return. Their departures came as fans and Andy Cohen pointed out that the cast was too divided. Thus this made enjoying the show very difficult. Other issues from the season included Wendy Osefo and Nneka Ihim‘s controversial and cultural feud. An Essence Magazine writer called this out in a viral article and said it was highly offensive for Nigerians to watch the whole ordeal play out on the show. And the way the matter was handled and initiated by Ashley Darby‘s actions was culturally insensitive.

The most discussed part of the article was what the Essence writer said about colorism. The author and some RHOP fans believe there was a colorism issue at play. Of course, tension between cast members is a norm. However, they felt like Candiace and Wendy were treated differently than their lighter costars. This came up at the reunion. However, Gizelle and Robyn’s responses to the colorism discussion didn’t sit well with them. In response to these feelings, some viewers said they were done watching the show.

Well, the numbers are in for the Season 9 premiere of “Real Housewives of Potomac.” 520,000 viewers tuned in. Season 8 premiered with 787,000 viewers.

  1. Mia declasses this show so much. Making a storyline out of the paternity of her son was foul. I miss Candiace and Monique too.

  2. I don’t know Mia just seems like everything she says and does is for TV. I haven’t been watching I don’t even watch clips anymore. It’s dull

  3. It’s only the 1st episode and it was still better than Rhony premier. Also Candice or Robin did not cross my mind, however I wouldn’t mind Candice back in the mix…even though I am still team Monique for life.

  4. Ratings started going down when Monique left and now Candiace’s fans are gone too. Mia and Jacqueline are more suited for Zeus and Love & Hip Hop. I hate to say but Robyn leaving may have hurt ratings as well because her and Juan def had people talking 🤷🏾‍♀️. There’s nothing to talk about now.

    1. This right here. RHOP used to be must see television because it was always chaotic and some nonsense going on with Juan and Michael. Then you had Karen, Monique and Candiace giving us stellar reads and confessionals. Gizelle and Robyn being messy besties is more entertaining than Mia and Jacqueline’s raggedy impersonation. All they had to do was stop showing so much favoritism to Gizelle and the show would still be pulling in numbers. Bravo has been making dumb decisions for years and now their shows are struggling because of it.

  5. I’m checked out Gizele needs to be put on pause I’m sick of her being the producers pet never held to account for the f’ up things she DOES, I’M OVER THIS SHOW!!!

  6. Watched first episode out of curiosity. What I know for sure – I miss Candice!; Mia should not be on this show – Jerry Springer maybe but not here!; Wendy is still class of show.; Karen has to stop with the plastic surgery!; I will no longer watch this show!
