Some RHOP fans believe Wendy Osefo and Candiace Dillard-Bassett are being treated unfairly.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” fans have been venting their frustrations about the current season on social media. They believe the latest episodes have shown that there is a lot of unfairness that takes place within the group. For example, they believe that Robyn Dixon‘s feelings amid Juan Dixon‘s controversies were prioritized. In one scene, Mia Thornton suggested they be more considerate of Robyn. Ashley gave Robyn the best room during the Austin trip because she was “going through a lot.” However, some feel it is expected for Candiace Dillard-Bassett to move on from Gizelle Bryant making some polarizing claims about Chris Bassett. However, Gizelle told Karen Huger she can’t move forward with Candiace because of her reunion comments.
Candiace is feeling very frustrated, too. In fact, she said the goalposts are “always moving” during a recent episode. Robyn said Candiace was wrong to criticize her on X. However, Robyn and Gizelle have been critical of Candiace on their “Reasonably Shady” podcast. Ashley has gotten on Candiace for her X posts. But nothing has been said about Gizelle and Robyn having free rein on their podcast.
Fans also stated they felt like another instance of unfairness was the cast’s reaction to Wendy Osefo being assaulted by Mia. Although Robyn and Gizelle spearheaded Monique being iced out for putting her hands on Candiace, they weren’t outraged by Mia doing the same to Wendy. Robyn said Wendy “antagonized” Mia so she didn’t feel bad for Wendy. This of course rubbed Eddie Osefo the wrong way.
Essence Magazine was critical of RHOP in a recent article.
Well, now RHOP fans are discussing a recent article that was posted by Essence Magazine. One of the writers, Shelby Stewart, did not hold back at all. And what was written has caused plenty of debates thus far.
Shelby wrote, “The franchise has been on a sharp decline for some time now, mostly due to the uninspiring storylines of most of its cast. Coupled with the pervasive hazing, combined with an undercurrent of colorism and blatant unfairness has made the show increasingly harder to watch. Potomac has a history of using a bait-and-switch tactic, deliberately provoking and isolating women within the group, only to subsequently label these women as “aggressive.” It first reared its head in season 5 when the “green-eyed bandits,” Bryant and Dixon led a crusade against Samuels, who physically attacked Dillard-Bassett and drummed up rumors about Samuels’ and her family. Though Samuels left the show following season five, her resounding words have seemed to foreshadow the direction of the franchise’s future.”
The writer goes on to point out that Monique predicted that Wendy Osefo’s family would be targeted next. Interestingly enough, the latest episodes featured newbie Nneka Ihim calling Wendy’s mother a witch. She was also accused of using a shine for evil even though she’s Catholic. In response, Wendy has accused Nneka of stooping to xenophobia to have a storyline. At this point, Wendy thinks that Nneka’s whole point of being on RHOP is to attack her.
RHOP Producers were also called out for centering the season around Wendy and Nneka’s feud.
“…It calls the showrunners to the carpet for allowing the conversation to happen on camera. It’s something very devious about the nature of exposing sensitive cultural discussions without the necessary care and responsibility, it intentionally perpetuates stereotypes and causes harm.”
“Real Housewives of Potomac” fans who agree with the article are completely frustrated by the season. Some are even ready to stop watching the show completely.

The best thing to do is stop watching these shows. The worst people have the most protection from the networks. They only hear criticism when the ratings aren’t good.

So agree with you. Sometimes I get mad at myself for viewing these shows where “supposedly” intelligent, professional women (Dr. Simone for instance) allow themselves to be prorated as classless, ratchet women. Ultimately, if the viewership was not there (US watching) there would be no show.

This is a mess, but I am going to keep watching, the colorism is really getting blown out of proportion, why don’t everyone just say get rid of all the light skinned ladies, and hire all dark-skinned women on the cast, so there, I said it for essence and everyone else.
I agree. I feel it’s reverse colorism. It’s about equal as far as dark complexion versus light complexion. When you hit back at Candiace or Wendy for their out of bound responses. It’s colorism. Be able to take as good as you give. If you can’t then it’s not the show for you.

Light skin and dark skin women do not need to be separated. All we’re asking for is for everyone on RHOP to be treated the same. As it stands, the light skin women bully and antagonize the dark skin women and then ice them out when they react. Not cool.
Bingo! Couldn’t have said it better myself. As for the show, it’s flat an boring. I turned the channel on it 10 minutes in last Sunday. The Nneka an Wendy feud is ridiculous. Giselle and Robyn are boring. Aside from green eyes, why are they still on there? They don’t want to discuss their own issues, but they will discuss everyone else. Nope, done. As done with RHOP as I am M2M and I haven’t watched that in weeks.

The show as I relevance. The storylines are boring. The women are boring and seem to grasp at anything to try and create a storyline. As for M2M, I can no longer stomach watching doctors act a fool for ratings. Dr. Jackie should leave the show. It’s so beneath her. And why did they bring Phaedra??? She’s trash!
I stopped watching this after season 2… These women are bullies and are very clickish.. even the so call gran dame.. they are all messy!!! Robin and Giselle are the favorite targets bcuz of their looks.. Karen stays with the others because she doesn’t want to be on the receiving end of bullying.. sad af

I agree with the bias on RHOP. I still like the show however, I agree that Candance and Wendy are not being treated fairly. Robyn can cry all she wants as most are forgetting how rude she was last season and how she called out the other women (Candace, Wendy, and Karen). Robyn lied to, and, on Karen and hid the drama in her house until she got paid to do so. I do feel a bit sorry for her but I do remember how she brought a lot of this on herself for attacking the other ladies. And the messy three, Gizelle, Robyn and Ashley, keep throwing shade on Wendy and Candace, but they are not holding Ashley accountable for starting the drama between Wendy and Nneka. Then Ashley tried to back out of it by saying he he I might have started it by spreading a twisted version of what she told Nneka and Wendy. You need to quit calling Candace out when the other ladies initiated the mess. It’s something for Gizelle to blame Candace when she out and out lied on Chris in her attempt to make him look like a rapist or that he took advantage of her. She out and out lied and Ashley took the bait and jumped on the bandwagon because of her awful husband. If anything Candace has the right to be upset at Gizelle for trying to take her family down.
