RHOSLC star Mary Cosby noticed a change in her son.
Mary Cosby is back for the current season of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.” While many have been discussing her fallout with Meredith Marks on social media, other fans are touched by how open Mary has been about her son. Mary has noticed a change in Robert Jr.’s behavior. They used to have a very close relationship. However, Robert Jr. got married behind her back. She’s also noticed that Robert and his wife lack ambition. They have no interest in working jobs. Mary suspected that her son may have gotten into drugs. And these substance abuse issues were likely preventing him from being his usual ambitious self.
Well, Mary and Robert Jr. had a very emotional and eye-opening conversation during the latest episode of RHOSLC. In the scene, Mary told Robert he had to be honest about what’s been going on with him. Robert admitted that he is addicted to Xanax, and he has even used it in combination with acid, cocaine, and Adderall. He started messing around with Xanax when he was 16 years old. Someone gave it to him while he was at a party. Robert is currently 21 years old.
Mary broke down in tears. She told her son that she would not judge him. But she will not support his addiction. While she is there to help him, Robert has to want to help himself.
When Mary asked Robert Jr. if he’s unhappy, he said that life was like “chicken unseasoned” and being high was like “adding seasoning to it.”
Mary was heartbroken to hear her son’s confession.
During a green screen interview, she expounded on her son’s history with drugs.
“I just feel very disappointed in myself. I feel like I let him down somewhere. I’m very aware and I do know that Robert did smoke weed. I do know he would eat edibles. But yet I just trusted him, in my mind thinking that’s where he would stop. I was clearly wrong, I mean clearly wrong. I missed the mark.”
The most emotional part of the scene is when Robert Jr. told Mary that she is the only reason he hasn’t ended his life. Both broke down at this point.
Mary believes Robert Jr. is strong enough to overcome his addiction. He tearfully agreed and they consoled each other.
This made me cry. Praying for Mary and her family. Addiction is rough.
One of the most touching things I’ve ever seen on television. 😢
Love or Hate Mary That Scene Was A HEARTBREAKER …I Love That She Did Not Judge Him Instead You Gave Advice And Support. I Pray For His Recovery Addiction Does Not Just Affect The Addict IT Affects Anyone That Love Or Is Involved In Their Life.
Mary is a good mother 😢
For all of Mary’s weirdness she is doing what it takes for her son. It was there to be seen that she regrets missing or ignoring the signs of his drug abuse.
