Porsha Williams’ Ex-Husband, Simon Guobadia, was detained by ICE in Georgia.
Simon Guobadia’s legal saga continues. Not only is he engulfed in a contentious divorce with “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams, but he’s also in the middle of an immigration fight. This time, it’s been reported by US Weekly that Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Georgia has detained Simon Guobadia. Simon was detained on February 21st. As of February 22nd, Simon’s name is no longer showing on the ICE database, and as of now, it’s unclear whether Simon was deported to Nigeria.
In January 2024, Simon sued ICE and sought to overturn their ruling and ultimately grant US citizenship. Unfortunately for Simon, a US federal judge in the Northern District of Georgia ruled against Simon. Simon’s criminal history, going back over 40 years, was used against him in the judge’s ruling. He originally overstayed a Visa and was charged with multiple crimes of bank fraud and identity theft going back to 1982.
Despite this ruling, Simon has been engulfed in his ongoing contentious divorce from Porsha. Porsha and Simon had a hearing upcoming for their divorce on February 26th, 2024. Simon also has a defamation lawsuit against Porsha. In that lawsuit, Simon claims Porsha defamed him on her Instagram page when she posted about erectile dysfunction. In this lawsuit, he’s seeking seventy-five thousand dollars in damages and court fees.
Simon also sought to stop Porsha from filming the upcoming season of RHOA in their Sandy Springs, Georgia, home. Unfortunately for Simon, a judge ruled that Porsha could film. Simon filed an emergency motion in the case, challenging the ruling.
Porsha and Simon got married in 2022, and less than two years later, after Simon’s federal immigration lawsuit was closed, Porsha filed for divorce.
