Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia call it quits?
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans have been reading a lot of reports and rumors about the upcoming season. Of course, the biggest topic is casting for Season 16. Kandi Burruss is out. She was offered a contract to return. However, the long hiatus made Kandi realize it may be time to step back from the show and focus on other aspects of her empire. Kandi’s departure has opened up the door for Phaedra Parks to return possibly. Interestingly enough, the first cast member confirmed for Season 16 was Porsha Williams. Days after Porsha made the confirmation on social media, her hubby Simon Guobadia made headlines, too.
According to court documents, Simon was recently denied American citizenship last January due to his past bank and credit card fraud charges.
After the report went viral, Simon took to social media to post photos of himself smiling and smoking a cigar. Some took this to mean he was “unbothered” by the headlines. The day prior Porsha posted videos of them enjoying jet skis in Dubai. So many fans took this to mean that the couple was doing just fine.
Well, Simon is back in the headlines again. This time it’s because Porsha has filed for divorce.
People Magazine broke the story. The publication is reporting Porsha filed the court documents in Atlanta on Thursday. According to the source, the impending divorce is not due to Simon’s criminal record. The source also said the split was because of an “ongoing matter.” The couple was married for 15 months.
Neither Porsha nor Simon have addressed the divorce filing as of yet. Regardless, many “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans are thinking the next season is going to be one for the books just from headlines alone.
So everyone involved in that mess of a situation broke up? I can’t say I’m surprised. Hopefully Porsha has an iron tight prenup because Simon’s wealth was extremely overestimated. She was the come up, not the other way around.
It was only a matter of time. Simon is a fraud and serial cheater. It’s amazing how so many believe the edited pictures they see on Instagram.
