Bravo Releases the First Six Minutes of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Season 16 Premiere

RHOA returns Sunday after a nearly two-year hiatus.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” returns this Sunday. Fans have been awaiting the return of the peaches for nearly two years. Season 15 was a letdown to many viewers. These fans took to social media to air their grievances with the casting choices. In particular, they thought Marlo Hampton flopped terribly as a peach holder. Some also took issue with Sheree Whitfield and Sanya Richards-Ross being a part of the main cast.

At the conclusion of the previous season, producers revealed the show would be put on hiatus so they could get the right cast together. Kandi Burruss decided she wouldn’t return while the process was underway. She said she didn’t want her money making opportunities outside of RHOA to be put in limbo while waiting for production to find the right newbies.

Shamea Morton makes her official debut as a peach holder.

Porsha Williams eventually signed on for Season 16 along with bestie Shamea Morton. She has been in the headlines lately due to her ongoing divorce from Simon Guobadia. After Kenya Moore‘s controversial feud with newbie Brittany Eady resulted in her suspension, she eventually chose to exit the season before filming wrapped. Phaedra Parks was added to the cast once she decided she no longer wanted any association to “Married to Medicine.” Cynthia Bailey was also in the mix quite a bit in a friend role, while Drew Sidora ended up being the only peach to return from Season 15. Angela Oakley and Kelli Ferrell joined Eady as new peach holders.

Well, Bravo has released the first look of the Season 16 premiere of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” In the preview, Shamea gives viewers a peek at her luxurious $9 million home. She’s ready for people to see who she is independently of Porsha.

She also told a funny story about meeting her husband, Gerald Mwangi.
