In the season premiere of “The Braxtons,” Tamar invites her niece Ashlee to her podcast, and Trina responds to the backlash from Ashlee’s accusations. Here are highlights for “New Hustles, Old Wounds.”
Tamar reaches out to her niece, Ashlee, amid the controversial headlines.
Tamar meets with her niece, Ashlee. There has been a lot of tension in the family lately due to accusations Ashlee has made on social media. She alleged that one of her aunt’s husband’s hit on her via text messages when she was 16 years old. She no longer has a relationship with the unidentified aunt. Ashlee feels like venting on the internet is the only way she can heal, and Tamar understands.
Trina responds to social media backlash.
During a green screen interview, Tamar said she’s been in Ashlee’s shoes, and the family didn’t help her. So she invited Ashlee to speak on her podcast. Meanwhile, Trina vents to Towanda. The backlash she’s been receiving on social media has been too heavy for her to bear. She doesn’t understand why Ashlee didn’t reach out to her. She supported her when it happened, and Ashlee never told her she was still struggling.
Towanda tells Trina she is a victim as well. And this is a matter the family should have discussed in private, not on Tamar’s podcast.
Trina and Evelyn catch up. They discuss Towanda’s excitement for wedding planning. Although she’s been married before, this will be her first wedding. So she wants everything to be perfect. Trina is excited about the bachelorette party and festivities being in Mexico.
Ashlee is ready to speak her truth on Tamar’s podcast.
Tamar, her close friends James and Taz, as well as Ashlee, prepare to record an episode for Tamar’s podcast. Shots are taken, and Tamar leads a prayer before they begin. She starts by introducing her niece and telling her audience members that “family secrets suck.”
After Tamar asks Ashlee to tell her story, the episode ends on a cliffhanger before she can begin.
What are your thoughts on the season premiere?
Get a therapist
Without Tracy this show will NEVER be the same!!! That’s it That’s all
Trina let herself go And I wished this family would get a therapist. It’s almost like the family is filled with evil spirits
I will admit Trina does look rough and Tamar is always keeping up some mess she so sad you have to be miserable to do what she’s doing. Why not kept it in the family and work it out privately I mean the man is dead what’s all this for.
