On the latest episode of “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” the group heads to Guntersville for a couples’ retreat. The getaway starts peacefully, but Tricia struggles emotionally after finalizing her divorce earlier that day. Destiny and LaTisha also try to repair their friendship, while Maurice and Martell clash over jokes at dinner about Maurice’s DUI arrest.
Here’s the recap for “All’s Well That Yells Well.”
The Scotts welcome the group to their anniversary retreat.
Marsau and LaTisha greet the group as everyone arrives at the mountain retreat for their anniversary celebration. Marsau describes the property as “a little piece of heaven tucked onto the side of a little mountain” while giving everyone a tour. He places Maurice and Kimmi in one area and gives Martell his own room upstairs.
Nell later welcomes everyone to what one guest jokingly calls the “cuddle retreat.” She says the goal is to “build positive new connections” and “burn away the old connections that don’t serve you.” Nell also announces a Love Jones-themed dinner and assigns homework for the trip. She tells everyone to write poems and personal notes to share later that evening.
Martell and Destiny joke about the tension surrounding the Scotts after Destiny revisits old accusations she made about Marsau. She reminds Martell she once accused Marsau of cheating with “20 women” and joked that “he need to know what color his penis is.” Martell laughs through the conversation and says he hopes the trip stays peaceful. However, Destiny says that problems between the Martells and the Scotts always show up.
The mood shifts once Trish arrives after spending the morning in court. Kimmi asks what happened, and Trish confirms her divorce became official earlier that day. In a confessional, Trish says the hearing left her “all over the place.” The others encourage her to relax and enjoy the retreat. Meanwhile, LaTisha reminds everyone that the trip also falls on her wedding anniversary with Marsau, so they want the group to “love on us a little bit” during dinner.
The group opens up during the poetry exercise.
The group gathers around the fire pit to complete the poetry assignment Nell introduced earlier in the trip. Nell begins by thanking Kimmi and Maurice for inviting her and Chris despite the tension between them. She says the invitation felt “very heartfelt” because she wants peace within the group.
Maurice then reads a poem dedicated to Kimmi and reflects on the ups and downs of their marriage. He describes their relationship as “an adventure of love and happiness, trial and error” before ending the poem by declaring his love for Kimmi “forever and ever and ever.” LaTisha follows with a poem for Marsau and thanks him for continuing to stand by her through difficult moments in their marriage. She tells Marsau, “Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for loving me.”
Chris later uses the exercise to address Martell directly. He encourages Martell to repair relationships with the Scotts and reminds him that “everyone’s different.” Chris also says the men should continue supporting each other even when they disagree. Martell appreciates the advice and says he respects Chris because of his life experience.
The atmosphere becomes emotional when Martell shares a poem titled “Heaven Could Have Waited” about losing both of his parents. He reflects on the lessons they taught him while questioning why they ignored warnings about their health. Martell also admits he struggles because his parents and sister are no longer alive to witness the major changes in his life. Afterward, the group lightens the mood with a toast to “clarity, relationships, understanding, communication, friendship, and respect.”
LaTisha and Destiny revisit their issues.
Next, LaTisha and Destiny revisit their ongoing problems while out on a boat, and LaTisha explains why she felt frustrated during previous conversations about Nell. LaTisha says she never asked Destiny to choose sides when she and Martell were not getting along. However, she felt Destiny expected her to simply accept Nell’s behavior without question. Destiny disagrees, saying she only wanted LaTisha to understand Nell’s perspective rather than assume the worst.
Tension builds after LaTisha questions whether Destiny has truly taken accountability for the hurtful comments she made in the past. Destiny says she apologized multiple times, including for situations she believes were not entirely her fault. LaTisha disagrees, saying Destiny crossed the line by joking about her friendships and marriage during previous trips.
Destiny becomes frustrated once LaTisha brings up the “don’t trust that ***” comment again. She says the remark felt disrespectful and accuses LaTisha of trying to “dump everything in my lap and blame me.” LaTisha eventually apologizes for the comment and admits she “shouldn’t have said it.” However, the conversation falls apart once both women begin bringing up accusations involving each other’s husbands.
Meanwhile, Chris and Marsau finally address the tension surrounding Chris’s loss of his real estate license. Marsau explains he felt blindsided because they previously discussed doing business together. Chris responds by saying Marsau wrongly assumed he committed fraud or intentionally hid information. Maurice encourages both men to resolve the issue before resentment grows worse. The conversation ends positively after Marsau and Chris agree to move forward as friends.
Maurice and Martell clash during dinner over jokes about Maurice’s DUI.
The group sits down for dinner and begins discussing the progress they believe they have made in repairing old friendships. Chris says he always wanted to see Martell and Marsau return to a better place because it proves relationships can recover after years of tension. Maurice disagrees and questions whether the group truly resolved anything or simply pushed their issues aside.
Things become tense after Maurice brings up Martell, joking about his DUI arrest earlier in the trip. Maurice recalls Martell laughing after hearing he hit a tree, a pole, and an animal during the crash. Although some people at the table laughed initially, Maurice says the situation was too serious to joke about.
Martell attempts to explain himself, but Maurice grows more irritated as the conversation continues in front of everyone. Maurice warns Martell he is about to “get a different Maurice” if the jokes continue. He also stresses the crash could have ended much worse. The disagreement quickly turns into a loud shouting match while everyone watches the exchange unfold at the dinner table.
After tempers flare, the group continues debating whether their friendships have genuinely improved. Maurice remains skeptical that everyone has truly changed. Meanwhile, the others argue that rebuilding trust takes time and that mistakes will still happen.
