Candiace Dillard Bassett Calls out RHOA Fans Who Want Kelli Potter & K. Michelle Fired

Candiace Dillard Bassett had something to say to disgruntled RHOA fans.

Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans have a lot to say about the latest season on social media. While some are enjoying the shade and drama, others take issue with certain casting choices. In particular, they have questioned why K. Michelle was brought in considering her “Love & Hip Hop” past. Others have been critical of Kelli Potter amid her feud with Porsha Williams. Interestingly, Candiace Dillard Bassett addressed this on her podcast. And she thinks fans need to stop insisting that people be fired from RHOA.

Candiace said, “Black people are not a monolith, and we need to see people of all…just like we see all different kinds of white girls. There will be 70 of the same white girl with the same blonde hair, but they’re all different. We need to see different types of Black people. They’re not always going to be people that you like. They’re gonna get on your nerves. But they still belong there.”

She continued, “People saying Kelli on Atlanta needs to go. People saying K. Michelle needs to go. No! Because they are Black people that you don’t like that you wouldn’t hang with or identify with, does not automatically mean that they should be fired. Those types of people exist in the zeitgeist of culture. They exist in the world, and the point of reality TV supposedly is to reflect what is happening in our world. So why are you trying to get rid of people and have the same type of person on the show?”

Candiace thinks Black people are too quick to call for someone’s firing.

“Leave people who are not like you alone, and I’m speaking specifically to Black people, ‘cause we are the first ones to be like, ‘I don’t like her. She needs to leave the show.’ No! You need to shut up and just watch,” she said.

  1. So Candiace Dillard Bassett wants us to shut up and just watch. Really Candiace Dillard Bassett? The audacity! Who are you to tell Black folk to basically watch your trainwreck of a show and not sound off? How about we turn the channel and don’t watch? Would that work for you? I don’t know about others, but Candiace Dillard Bassett you don’t get to tell me what to do! How about you hope and pray we Black folk continue to watch so you can keep your Bravo checks coming. How about that?

  2. Oh, so Ms. Candiace wants us Black folk to shut up and just watch her show. We can’t express our feelings about what we see on the show. We can’t call it straight. We can’t have original thoughts. Really? I see a lot a lot of pushback coming on this. Remember, Black folks don’t like to be told “…shut up and dribble”. Hey Candiace, take off your red hat and sit down!

  3. For maybe the first time I agree with Candice, she’s right all these ladies have a story of their own and we need to let play out. The issues they are having has always been like this. The only thing I always haven’t liked is all the shouting and calling out of their names. What I want is them understanding each other’s point of view and the shady ways they treat each other. So stop complaining and just watch the show, because it’s never going to change.

  4. K. Michelle done ✔️ this to herself ms. Lady. I bet where she messed up at won’t be brought out on the show! So there. YOU take several seats because this is Bravo problem NOT yours!

  5. Race has nothing to do with this. Bravo fans in general always want someone fired. Candiace annoys me because it’s like she sees race in everything. Kelli and K. Michelle aren’t liked because they don’t fit on the show. They just make up lies and beefs for screen time. They aren’t good housewives. RHOA was better back in the day because it was more authentic. They should remove Kelli and K and bring back the OGs who were authentic like NeNe.

  6. Candace Bassett. Who just wants us to see her as a Black Woman who happens to be married to a WM and embrace her as one of us but always talking about how Black Women are. STFU girl.
What’s the point of any show without “feedback” it goes with all shows but I guess she doesn’t see when people call out the women on the other shows.
She just mad because we not calling for her to come back. You’re not missed.
