In the latest episode of “Raising Kanan,” Raq makes moves to resurrect her drug business while Unique feels the pressure from all sides. Here is the recap for “Many Men.”
Stefano is done with Raq.
Unique visits Pernessa and their son at a home no one supposedly knows about. Pernessa wants Unique to exit the drug game and live in the suburbs permanently with them. Unique doesn’t want to do this. He doesn’t think he could make money outside of selling drugs.
Russo and Stefano’s war has both men stressed and irritable. Raq attempts to persuade Stefano to work together again, but he wants nothing to do with her. He blames her for his current hospital visit. He thinks Russo would have never stabbed him if Raq didn’t “bring him over the river.” When Raq mentions she can do business elsewhere, Stefano threatens to have his hit men take her out. Queens is off limits to her.
Meanwhile, Stefano’s men kill Russo at a McDonald’s drive-through after one of his men flips on him.
Raq sets her sights on Manhattan.
Marvin uses cash to find out that Unique and Pernessa are hiding out in the suburbs. Although he’s ready to put Unique in the dirt, Raq says they need to focus on getting money. If Stefano kicked them out of Queens, Manhattan should be in play. They have drugs they need to sell. So Raq is going to meet with the man in charge of the game there. In the meantime, they will use Cafe Vous to clean their money and sell their drugs.
“Lou gon roll over in his grave seeing us work out of his club,” says Marvin.
Raq says Cafe Vous will have to be their lifeline.
Snap, Pop, Kanan, and Breeze meet with Stefano. He says he is done being hands-on in the drug business there. Moving forward, he just wants his cut, but he won’t be getting his hands dirty again after his disastrous partnership with When Snap and Pop say Unique is working with them, Stefano expresses that he has a problem with this since Unique was working under Russo.
Unique realizes his former association with Russo could pose a problem for Stefano and brings this up to Breeze. However, Breeze lies and tells Unique that Stefano isn’t worried about him.
Shirley is pushed out of Cafe Vous.
Raq talks to Pino Bernardi, the man who runs the drug game in Manhattan. He tells her Stefano hasn’t been saying good things about her. So he’s not sure why he would need to go behind Stefano’s back and work with Raq.
Marvin goes to Cafe Vous to drop off the drugs in boxes. Shirley sees him and asks him what is in the boxes. She figures it out quickly. It is time for a conversation. He tells Shirley he is buying her out of her stake of the club since Lou Lou is dead.
Unique tries to talk Kanan into working together and not going along with Snap and Pop’s plans. He can sense the betrayal coming. Kanan turns down the offer, and Nique asks him why he hasn’t confronted him about Lou’s death. Kanan makes his exit after Unique asks if it was Raq or Kanan himself who pulled the trigger.
Unique makes it out.
Raq meets with a woman named Flossie Siegel about working together to move her drugs in Manhattan. The meeting went well after Pino filled Flossie in on all the details. Flossie is excited to work with another sharp woman.
Iesha and her parents talk to Detective Garcia. He tells them that Juke and her family are attached to serious crimes like murder. They are also shown a photo of Lou’s dead body.
Iesha later sneaks out to tell Juke about the uncomfortable meeting with Detective Garcia. She becomes upset once Juke makes it clear that she doesn’t think a relationship would ever work.
Marvin finds out where Unique’s associate, Akbar, has been hiding out and kills him after he learns Unique’s location. Breeze and Kanan go to Unique’s place in the city with guns drawn and find no one there. Marvin comes up short as well when he makes it to the suburbs.
Unique and Pernessa are later seen discussing their abrupt getaway, in which they left everything they had behind. Regardless, Unique tells Pernessa they can replace those things.
They are never returning to New York.
