Kimora Lee Simmons has made a name for herself in the game of fashion with her runway skills and Baby Phat clothing line. And the former supermodel-businesswoman doesn’t hesitate at all to let folks know that her and her ex-husband Russell Simmons paved the way when it comes to celebrity fashion lines. As for her love life, rumors were going around for awhile about her and Actor Djimon Hounsou suggesting that they were over, Author Kola Boof claiming that she was the one who broke up their relationship. After months of speculation and gossip about her and Djimon’s relationship, Kimora herself addressed the situation, Kola Boof having some more words to say after the news of the split with the media. In an interview that she did Daily Mail, Kimora spoke very candidly about her relationships and the current status of her love life and says that she looks at relationships as things that go through changes and not as things that begin only to eventually come to an end, Kimora adding that just like your children, those who you have been married to don’t just go away once you aren’t together anymore:
“Relationships do change throughout the course of your life, and I always think in terms of relationships changing and evolving rather than starting and stopping. Kids never go away from your life, and if you’ve been married, that person probably never goes away either. You never get rid of anyone and they never really get rid of you!”
Though Kimora says that you can’t fully rid yourself of your exes for she hasn’t done that, she does admit that it can be challenging to stay on good terms with them, especially when kids are involved, but says that she has to always do what is best for her children:
“I try to do everything from the viewpoint of what’s best for my kids. I have three kids and two great dads and it’s not always easy, but you have to try to be a little selfless and we manage just fine.”
Rumors have been swirling around about who Kimora Lee Simmons is dating at the moment, her recent rumored beau said to be Boxer Malik “King” Scott. Kimora says though she is still a single woman:
“I’m not with anyone at the moment. It’s just my kids and their two dads, I guess.”
Kimora Lee Simmons has had a string of success as a model and creative director, even moving into the realm of reality TV. And Kimora says that she has a hard time when it comes to dating because men seem to be intimidated by her success:
“They have a lot of insecurities about who we are, what we have, what we look like, what we’ve accomplished and what we’re capable of because we’re fabulous and capable of doing so much and juggling so much every day. People might be mad I’m saying this, but [men] do have a lot of hang-ups. But that shouldn’t deter you ladies from being great! You don’t have to dumb down — you just have to find a clever, good, secure man. I’ve found a couple — I’ve been lucky — but it’s probably hard for everybody to find that true love of a good man.”
