Lil Wayne Pisses off the Senator of New York, And Gets Dragged in an Interview

Lil Wayne just keeps getting himself in trouble. And while it may not be legal troubles, it appears that the rapper has made a hobby out of pissing people off with his comments about their hometowns. Although many are quick to label the rapper as frankly rude and insensitive, Lil Wayne could just suffer from the not really giving a f-ck syndrome. We haven’t really determined that yet though, but we do know this is the same guy that told one of the paps he would have him shot for taking pictures of his skateboarding sessions. So with that being said, I don’t think anything Lil Wayne’s says these days should be surprising. But that doesn’t stop people for being offended with his latest comments about the city of New York.

Just to give you the back-story, apparently Hot 97 revealed that Lil Wayne said he doesn’t like New York in one of his interviews. Welp, it looks like a senator of the city isn’t amused. So when Malcolm Smith was asked about it, he read Lil Wayne for days:

“I take strong exception to the words ‘I don’t like New York.’

“If you don’t like New York, you don’t have to come to New York, you don’t have to sell your products here, and perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”

Interestingly enough, Lil Wayne still has not said a thing about his comments. But you know Birdman did:

I don’t think that helped the situation any.

And in related news, MTV caught up with Lil Wayne and asked him about how he felt about the Drake and Chris Brown fight. I think he may have confirmed that he does in fact suffer from the “don’t give a f-ck” syndrome:

“Honestly, I laughed at them. I can’t front, I just laughed at them… like, it’s funny to me. I thank God I ain’t going through it though, I’ve already been through too much.”

  1. I’m from Atlanta, so I’m obviously going to be a little biased her, but there’s a lot of people that don’t like New York. Honestly, I’d rather live in Miami than New York. Regardless, I doubt Weezy’s going to apologize, he never does. And he doesn’t need the north to do well. They don’t make the music game anymore. Sorry.

  2. So he found the whole situation between Drake and Chris funny. Wow. People got hurt and he laughed about it. That damn syrup must have eaten through half of his brain.
