Fantasia Barrino has already made it known that she is in a place in her life where she knows who she is and she’s not making any apologies for it. The American Idol winner and very talented R&B singer hasn’t had an easy time in the spotlight, as her image took a hit when she was accused of sleeping with a married man, and later gave birth to the man’s son. Fantasia incurred some legal battles as a result of the affair, and for now, it appears that she may no longer be romantically involved with Antwaun Cook. Regardless, Fantasia says she is in a good place and living a very happy life as a single woman, and that was supposed to made even more clear in her recent feature in Jet Magazine. However, once Fantasia got wind of the picture they decided to use on the cover, the singer got upset and decided to slam the publication because she doesn’t appreciate the fact that they used an old photo for an interview that is supposed to be highlighting that Fantasia is a in a new place.
Fantasia posted a photo of the cover and wrote to her fans about the mishap, while demanding that the magazine apologizes:
She writes:
“This saddens Me!!! It is clear that this picture is 10 Years Old and JET Magazine puts it on the Cover!! And I send them the NEW LOOK AND DIRECTION..SAD!!! I WANT A PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM JET. Now I’m not sure if the interview is correct. SEE!!! America they and use me as they crash Dummy BUT NO MORE. IF I DON’T STAND FOR SOMETHING ILL FALL FOR ANYTHING.”
Jet Magazine hasn’t responded to Fantasia yet, nor released a public statement about the issue.
Love me some Fanny, but she needs to have a whole stadium of seats. It’s a damn picture, and a nice one at that. No need for a tantrum.

JET is a rinky dink magazine. They use old pictures all the time because it probably saves them money. She is spazzing over nothing. They meant no harm.
There’s really no excuse for Jet doing this. They could have taken their own picture if they wanted to keep the costs low. This was lazy and unprofessional. I def understand why she’s upset. No big scale publication would pull a stunt like this.
