Keyshia Cole’s controversial tweets regarding Michelle Williams’ recent performance at the Super Bowl may be in the past, but unfortunately for Keyshia, the tweets are still fresh on some people’s minds. Just to catch you up on the situation, Keyshia made it clear on her Twitter account during the Destiny’s Child SB reunion that she doesn’t feel Michelle can hang with Kelly Rowland and Beyonce on stage. People were not too happy that Keyshia was trying to throw shade, especially because many don’t feel she’s a strong performer herself.  Despite the nasty mentions, Keyshia stood by her comments and suggested she made the comments because Michelle talked reckless about her prior to the SB scandal.

Regardless, Michelle Williams has already made it clear that she isn’t worried about Keyshia, and feels women in the industry need to be more supportive of one another. Michelle may have kept it cute and positive, but her close friend and fellow Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland basically said in an interview with USA Today that Keyshia Cole isn’t relevant enough to be making snarky remarks about Michelle because more people care about them than they do her.

Keyshia hasn’t clapped back at Kelly for the most part since the comments became viral, but it looks like she did address the situation with a subtle Instagram photo. Keyshia seems to think she’s misunderstood, and she thinks people forget that clapping back to those who tried you first shouldn’t warrant the mean girl label.

Here’s the photo she posted the other day:

She also wrote “#Misunderstood!!” for the caption.

In related news, the R&B singer kicks off her “Woman to Woman” tour with fellow R&B star Chrisette Michele later this month.

  1. Keyshia is not understood, we understand her perfectly. She’s not professional and needs to learn how to let things roll off her back sometimes.

  2. LOL chile please. Keyshia needs to master the art of throwing shade. That’s all. Shade now vs. throwing Twitter rants and you won’t have to explain yourself later.

  3. Keyshia was out of her league. You can’t come for Bey and her people and think it will work out for you (ie. Keri Hilson). Michelle isn’t a strong dancer, but she was a member of Destiny’s Child. They have a bigger fan base and have more accolades than Keyshia does. You always look like the bad guy/hater when you go after the people on top.

  4. I guess it’s safe to say the whole situation stroke a chord in Keyshia. That’s why I don’t take people seriously when they say they “don’t give a f-ck.” That’s usually a lie.

  5. Oh Keyshia…let’s not pull the “misunderstood” card ma’am. We get you, we just don’t like your attitude. Your music is good tho so you’ve been getting a pass for it up until you tried it on Twitter. Let it go before you get blacklisted by the industry folks.

  6. She’s not misunderstood at all. We understand her well and that’s why she got dragged on Twitter. All she can so is accept it for what it is and focus on her music. #shrugs

  7. Honestly, I don’t see the problem with what Keyshia said. No matter how much you love DC, we all know her words were the truth. Kelly and Michelle have always been Beyonces back up singers as she worked to build a name for herself but they get the benifits of being dragged along under the groups name. Ask yourself… What is DC with out Beyonce? It wasn’t until recently that Kelly has come to her own and judging from her Super Bowl appearance alone, Kelly has shown that she is equally as talented as her front running band mate Beyonce. Michelle on the other hand… The girl looked like a hot mess. Her dance moves weren’t there and her poor vocals, need I say more? Crazy thing is, if we weren’t seeing Beyonce front and center of the group for do many years, all these girls would have had the chance to grow equally as performers. As far as this shade Kelly has thrown on Keyshia… I can’t help but laugh at the irony! Notice she said people care about us (still living off of Beyonces name) as appose to saying people care more about Michelle than Keyshia! Of course we would know that’s a lie because as solo artist only one member of the group has outside Keyshia and we know it’s Beyonce. Keyshia’s Woman to woman album along has out sold any album put out by Kelly and Michelle and that’s fact! At the end of the day these celebs ask that they be treated as people because they are only human and have feelings too, well Keyshia is only human and just like any of us, she is entitled to say how she feels, filtered or not!

    1. Although that may true, yes she can say what she wants, but its the fact that she said it. Her being a celebrity dissing another celebrity after her performance was TACKY and extremely distasteful and the way she said it. It made her look bad. A LOT of people feel that Michelle is the weakest DC member but do they publicly say it???No. (Celebrity wise) It’s just tacky. She’s tacky. That’s why she’s getting backlashed. She had a lot of nerve publicly posting that and now she’s dealing with it.
