Beyonce’s year of reign continues as the superstar singer continues to land magazine covers and causes chaos with the ticket sales of her upcoming tour The Mrs. Carter Show. Beyonce herself has admitted that she is working on opening up a little bit more for the sake of her fans (whom she affectionately refers to as the BeyHive), and it’s pretty apparent she meant that as she just dropped her documentary on HBO, and she’s even sharing a little more about her personal life in her interviews and social network accounts (Tumblr, Instagram). Regardless of all the success Beyonce has achieved and continues to accomplish, it’s clear that her most proud moment is becoming a first time mother to daughter Blue Ivy.
Beyonce covers the April issue of Shape Magazine, and in the interview, she talks about all that weight she gained during her pregnancy, and she even talks about what she does to keep her weight under control since she claims she isn’t a naturally skinny chick. Turns out that Beyonce uses dance to shed the pounds:
“I gained 57 pounds when I was pregnant. I didn’t have a lot of time to lose the weight, because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again. I’m not a person that is naturally very thin. I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape.”
Even though Beyonce is pretty fabulous, she says it’s important that every woman learns how have confidence about their bodies:
“Not everyone is supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you.”
Good advice.
Yes Bey, yes.
I hate that Bey feels like she has to keep proving that she had that baby. Smh.
I agree. She usually has tough skin but when it comes to your kids, you can’t help but be sensitive. She looks great tho.
Agreed. At this point though, anyone who still doubts she gave birth is just a hater. People are so miserable, they need to think the worst of other people.
Looking good!
Werk!!!
I am so glad she said she isn’t naturally skinny. Just like her, many black people need to work hard to keep the work off.
She has truly grown on me!
Me too.
The King slays without even trying.

Dancing is great but I would like to know how she was eating.
That’s it. I’m getting back in the gym. Her body inspires me to get serious. LOL.
Ha! We’re on the same page this morning. 😉
Girl what?! I just started hitting the gym again early this week. I’m trying so hard to stay motivated but damn it if this post didn’t just put things in perspective…lol!
#DEAD Aww make it happen boo!
Exactly.
That body though…man! She looks amazing!
