When it comes to the stan wars, it’s always clear that Twitter is just one of those places where celebs have to be careful about what they Tweet because just about anything can be perceived as shade and disrespect these days. We’re not sure if Kelly Price knew that before, but if not, she definitely does now. The other day, the R&B singer tweeted a cryptic tweet about another singer losing her great voice, and according to Mariah Carey’s fans (whom she affectionately refers to as lambs), there happened to be a Mariah Carey concert on TV around the same time Kelly made the comment.
Here’s the tweet that started all the drama:
It didn’t take long for Mariah’s fans to body Kelly in her mentions, but one of the most common insults they threw out were ones regarding her weight. In the midst of all the drama, Kelly made it clear that weight jabs weren’t going to make her feel bad. She tweets (read from the bottom up):
The drama eventually led to Kelly receiving death threats, and eventually she realized that one of Mariah’s fans mentioned Mariah in the tweet to cause an uproar on the social media site. Kelly claims the tweet was not for Mariah and people are reaching, but Mariah’s fans still aren’t buying it:
Interestingly enough, it’s been rumored that Kelly Price has nabbed a spot on the cast for R&B Divas LA, so perhaps this is a little preview of what’s to come.
I can’t stand when people throw shade and then hide their hands behind their back. Of course that was shade to Mariah. People have been wondering where Mariah’s voice has gone for the last few years. Either way, she was lame for tweeting something and then acting like she didn’t know what the stans were talking about.
I hate that women feel the need to do catty things like this all day. It doesn’t matter who she was talking about, why was she talking? I mean, whoever it is has a better career than she does. She’s watching them perform on TV and she’s doing what? Oh, tweeting. Keyshia has starred a trend. Smdh.
Agreed, It doesn’t matter who she was tweeting about. The comment was unnecessary and very catty. When will grown people learn that you shouldn’t tweet everything you feel?

LOL Kelly isn’t lying though. Mariah can still sing but she’s not what she used to be. It happens.
Is this what all the flop R&B singers do nowadays…throw shade on Twitter to the singers who are actually doing better than them? I guess.
Shade fail. I don’t care if Mariah can’t blow like she used to…her career is shade in itself to Kelly. Kelly used to be a background singer for Mariah and even as a solo artist, she’s still in the background. Stay mad.
Kelly can SANG!!!! I just hate she’s going down the same path as biter a-s Keyshia Cole. And she’s even doing reality TV now too. Shame. Some things you should keep to yourself tho.

I wish they would just ban all celebs from social media sites cause they getting on my nerves! They all act like little teenagers instead of the grown men and women that they are supposed to be! So sad.

I’ll never understand why people act like singers are going to sound like their 22 year old selves damn near 22 years later. Voices change. It’s life. But lets not act like Mariah can’t sing anymore. Yes, she has her off days and yes her instrument has its wear and tear, but in good form she still wails for the gods. Check clips of her Australian tour. She’s still sitting pretty on her vocal throne.
It’s my understanding that Kelly started out in the business as a backup singer for Mariah. She needs to show some respect. That was very tacky!
