Fantasia Talks Being Bullied on the Social Networks

Fantasia Barrino is hitting fans with a new look and some new music to go along with it as the 2004 American Idol winner is bound and determined to get her career back on track after facing a rocky period in her career that stemmed from the relationship that she carried on with the father of her second child Antwaun Cook, a married man that Fantasia started dealing with romantically. The backlash really picked up once Fantasia got pregnant with Antwaun’s baby and Fantasia found herself fighting off the “home wrecker” label and Antwaun’s wife in the legal sense. Though being pushed to the point of almost taking her own her life and facing foreclosure on her Charlotte, North Carolina mansion, the singer says that her trials did nothing but make her the strong person that she is today, Fantasia showing off a side of herself that some aren’t used to seeing. And the singer thanks a number of people for getting her to that point. In part three of the interview that she did with Yahoo! Music, Fantasia talked about people who have encouraged her and she says that her children saved her life:

“I thank God for my kids. My kids saved my life. My kids, they’re the best things that ever happened to me. They are the reason why I am still here. They’re the reason why I’m still going, and why at this point I have such a peace about everything…I try not to let, things get to me like they used to anymore. Because at the end of the day, when I wake up in the morning and look at those two kids, I’m blessed, I’m good.”

Things have been looking up for the singer as of now but Fantasia still has to deal with the rumor mill and the harsh comments that people come at her with on social networks. But Fantasia says that she isn’t letting it get to her anymore and that she takes the high road despite all the nasty things that people say to or about her:

“Honestly at this point, I see it as a joke. It’s like bullying. The commercials that they have about the kids being bullied at school, it’s becoming a form of bullying. And I always see it like, if there’s somebody taking the time to say something evil or say something mean, those are the people I pray for because 9 times out of 10 they are dealing with something themselves.”

Not only is Fantasia coming with some new music, the singer is also making sure that her health in on track as well. She says:

“Well I guess I’m going in this game as a young woman and I see things different. Health-wise, I started doing better with what I put into my mouth for my family. My cousins are so young and they are on high blood pressure pills and things like that and I want to be around for a long time. So that means that I have to take care of my temple. I have to take care of my body, and I wanted to look good as well.”
