Rapper Wale found a huge hit with his current track “Bad,” but the DC native is hoping he will strike gold and get the hit album he’s been hoping for since inking his deal with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group. Of course it hasn’t been very easy for rappers to sell lots of records these days, but new Hip Hop star Kendrick Lamar has proven it’s still very possible with his hit album “good kid, m.A.A.d city.” Simply put, Wale is determined to put out more good music and prove to his faithful fans that were behind him before his MMG days that he still has the passion they loved about him in the first place. And what better way to do that than to enlist the help of some of today’s biggest artists? According to reports, Wale’s new album “The Gifted” will feature heavyweights Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Rick Ross and even label mate Meek Mill just to name a few. Complex reports:

We’ve already heard reports that Wale’s upcoming third album, The Gifted, will be a little different than his Maybach Music Group debut, Ambition. Last week, the D.C. native unveiled the Mr. Cartoon-designed cover art for his latest project, and today, we get a peek at the LP’s tracklist. Though labelmate Meek Mill assists on “Heavin In The Afternoon,” Rick Ross and the rest of the MMG crew are conspicuously absent. Instead, we have Nicki Minaj (whose been on quite the hot streak lately) and the rajah of ratchet, Juicy J, on potential strip-club anthem “Clappers,” as well as RiRi making her first-ever remix appearance on “Bad”.

Check out the tracklist below and let us know if you plan on picking up Wale’s new album when it drops.

  1. So he’s going to get Rihanna to do her best goat impersonation on the Bad Remix? I’ll pass.

  2. His last album was good to me. Hopefully this album will be just as good because I love that Bad song.

  3. I’m not feeling these features. Nicki annoys me, Rihanna is not my cup of tea and well, Meek Mill and Rick Ross are Meek Mill and Rick Ross. I wish Wale the best though.

  4. I think it will be good. I like Wale’s music. Now he does annoy me in real life, but his music is usually good, so I tolerate his real life antics.

  5. I might get it. I like the Bad song a lot. If he puts out another good single I’ll get it. Wale is a good rapper and actually talks about real life issues in his music. I like him musically.

  6. I can’t wait!!!!! I won’t let the features discourage me because Nicki is tolerable on songs other than her own, and I like how he blends with Rihanna. The “Contemplate” track on his Attention Deficit album was hot!!! And that was just him sampling one of her old songs. I heard an interview he did a little bit ago and he explained that he’s going back to creating the type of music that makes him happy, which is more along the lines of his older music (before MMG). He referenced albums like “Reasonable Doubt, College Dropout, etc.” as inspirations for his upcoming album. So taking all of that into account?!?! I’m geeked and ready for my old Wale to return! Ambition was cool and all, but it has nothing on his past projects. Especially that “More About Nothing” mixtape. I am sooooo ready!
