Surely it’s no secret that celebrities usually enjoy all kinds of perks. While most people have to stand in line or pay ridiculous amounts of money for nice things, celebs usually just cut the line and get lavish gifts without spending a dime of their own fortunes. And because they get these kinds of perks, it’s not uncommon for them to befriend other celebs, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to occasionally bask in their just as famous friend’s spotlight when they have a special moment. Clearly that’s what rapper Drake wanted to do right after the Miami Heat clenched yet another NBA Championship against the San Antonio Spurs. According to several reports, the Young Money golden child attempted to go to the Heat’s locker room to congratulate his bestie LeBron James, but he got shut down because he didn’t have a media pass. Of course Drake was in good spirits and even laughed down the rejection. SI.com reports:
Drake, 26, was reportedly turned away by security as he attempted to enter the locker room along with media members following Miami’s 95-88 victory over San Antonio and the on-court trophy presentation.
“Drake was stopped by security [as] he tried to getting in the locker room without [a] media pass,” Hoopsworld.com reported.
A Sun-Sentinel writer also reported that Drake was turned away: “I got in the locker room [and] Drake was denied access.”
According to Hoopsworld.com, Drake attempted to talk his way into the champagne-soaked party.
“I am media,” Drake reportedly said.
Apparently the rapper laughed when he lied and claimed to be media, and sources say it’s not like he had a diva moment like his mentor Lil Wayne who recently ranted and went on an entire tirade against the Miami Heat organization for not giving him the star treatment at a past game.
LOL!!!! He was a good sport anyway! I love Drake.
Now he should have known he was not going to get back there…lol
And the fact that he did act a fool about it is why I prefer Drake over Weezy any day.
Ha. After all that sh-t Lil Wayne pulled, there is no way the Miami Heat were going to let Drake back there.
What did he need to go to the locker room for?
Aww LOL!!! At least he got to party with LeBron afterwards anyway.
I’m still salty the Spurs threw game six away. They should have sealed the series then!
THIS! And I’m still salty about it. LOL!
#Lawrys! LOL
Gotta make free throws hun.
#GoHeat!
Celebrity fail…
Drake musta forgot that the Heat shun anyone associated with that Gremlin that was talkin greezy bout LBJ and dem, huh?
I guess Drake and the NBA are not friends.
Oh well!! gave it shot they can’t always have their way..Congrat to the Heat..of course you got your haters..James went to the Heat to be a winner.
