Alicia Keys’ Band Members Get Accused of Sexual Harassment

Alicia Keys band members accused of sexual harassment by journalist? Singer Alicia Keys’ Saturday night performance in Sweden was said to be a very good one yet some of her band members may be finding themselves in some trouble as a 32-year-old writer by the name of Jonna Sima who attended Alicia’s concert this past Saturday is claiming that some male members of the singer’s band were verbally abusive towards her during a ride after she refused to go back with them to the hotel. Jonna Sima told The Local she got separated from her friends at the concert and was in search of a way back to Gothenburg once it started raining during the outdoor festival. Sima says at first she didn’t recognize who the people in the van were until they told her they were members of Alicia Keys’ band:

“I didn’t know who they were until I got in the van and they explained that they were members of Alicia Keys’ band.”

Sima says once she found out who they were, she instantly became uncomfortable but didn’t want to walk by herself in the rain:

“It became unpleasant almost right away. I was scared; really scared.

“It was late, it was raining, and I was either looking at a long walk alone through a darkened wooded area, or getting in a car operated by the concert organizers.”

Sima goes on to say that once she refused the members of Alicia’s band’s suggestion of her joining them at their hotel, one of the male members got very nasty with her and said:

“This isn’t a f*cking taxi, b*tch! You should be f*cking grateful to be here.”

And she says the other ones had some very foul things to say to her too. Sima claims another male member told her:

“Who says we won’t drag you up to our hotel and trash your p*ssy?”

At this point, Sima says she started to become concerned and was trying her best not to make eye contact with any of the men in the car because she didn’t want to reveal how scared she was:

“I didn’t want them to realize how frightened I was.”

Jonna Sima alleges that the men’s verbal abuse towards her continued throughout the ride. And as for the female who was driving the van, she says the woman attempted to blow off the men’s insults towards her as nothing too serious to worry about. Even after reaching her destination, Jonna Sima said she was still very shaken up by the incident. She wrote a piece about the alleged incident and says with Alicia Keys’ background when it comes to empowering women through her songs, she thinks if Alicia knew how her band members behaved, the singer wouldn’t want to work with those men ever again.

Sima didn’t stop with writing her piece about the supposed incident. She voiced her concern about it to concert arranger Luger. After hearing what Jonna Sima had to say about the alleged treatment she received from Alicia Keys’ band members, Luger released a statement on Thursday and said the incident Sima described was not acceptable. Niklas Lundell of Luger also said Alicia Keys’ management team was contacted and they are waiting to receive a response from them.
