Beyonce is still on her Mrs. Carter World Tour and as we reported recently, her recent show in Australia broke records. But according to a new report, Beyonce has done way more to make history in Australia than sell out stadiums. Billboard now reports that Beyonce’s tour stops in Australia and New Zealand have brought in $40 million.

According to the music publication, the tour legs in Australia and New Zealand are the singer’s most successful to date in the region, and she’s shifting more than 220,000 tickets. Live Nation says she’s grossed more than $40 million in Australia and New Zealand alone.

And if that’s not enough, her shows continue to break attendance records. Keep in mind that she is doing this with no new album out.

Congrats to Beyonce.

In related news, Beyonce’s good news is currently being overshadowed by a casting director’s recent revelation regarding Disney’s movie “Princess and the Frog.” While promoting her new book “Confessions of a Casting Director,” she decided to inform Page Six that Beyonce didn’t want to audition to get the lead role. Beyonce wanted the role as Princess Tiana but lost the role to Anika Noni Rose reportedly because she didn’t want to audition. Jen Rudin tells Page Six:

“Beyoncé expected an offer, but wouldn’t audition and so she didn’t get one. Tyra Banks, Jennifer Hudson wanted it. Alicia Keys auditioned three times . . . They had to sing, so we made it clear they needed sheet music. Tyra came in with a CD, but it didn’t matter because she was so pretty and nice. It went to Anika Noni Rose, who was the most qualified.”

Beyonce later went on to voice Queen Tara in “Epic,” and Anika Noni Rose did a lovely job, so it looks like everything worked out for the best anyway.

  1. She’s the KANG. And that casting director needs to have several seats. Celebs get roles without auditioning all the time. Anything to sell that stale book of hers. Epic made more money anyway.

  2. Smh. Who cares about some old cartoon movie? I guess that lady just wants attention for her book. It’s sad what people will do to sell books these days.

  3. So she needed to mention Beyonce’s name to get some attention for her boring book? Typical. Meanwhile Beyonce is still making millions on tour with no new music. lol

  4. Well Epic has already made way more money than the Princess & the Frog did. So they probably should have given the role to Bey. LOL.

  5. Who cares about that lady’s book? She should thank Beyonce for helping her get the press she wouldn’t have gotten on her own. Ingrate.
