Just a few days after basically completely selling out of most of the items from her latest MAC collection, Rihanna is making more music history.
According to new reports, the “Pour It Up” singer has now officially surpassed Madonna in terms of number one hits. Yahoo! writes:
Rihanna has broken yet another record – by scoring her thirteenth US No.1 in less than seven years. ‘The Monster’, her most recent collaboration with rapper Eminem on his eighth studio album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′, hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, kicking Miley’s Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ down to second place.
The feat means Rihanna has now surpassed both Madonna and The Supremes to acquire the same amount of No.1’s in third place alongside Michael Jackson, sitting pretty behind only two other legends: Madonna, who has eighteen No.1’s, and The Beatles who have a massive twenty No.1 hits. Crazy stats, especially when you realise the Bajan songstress is only twenty-five years old… what could possibly be next?
Rihanna of course wasted no time in speaking on her latest accomplishment, and she writes on Twitter:
Wow!! I cant tell yall how I’m shaking! I cant believe this!! You did this!! #13 number 1’s! Where dey do dat at? Hardly! Yall epic az phuck
Congrats to Rihanna.
Congrats to Rihanna. That’s a very big deal.
Still not a fan but it’s awesome to see a black woman dethroning Madonna.
That reign…yall know the rest.
Congrats to her. Rihanna and Bey are killing the game.
And can anyone tell me who started the whole Beyonce vs. Rihanna thing because it’s extremely dumb. It’s not like we have a lot of black singers out here doing it this big. Why pit them against each other? I don’t get it. And why are most of us ok with that? Smh.
Stupid stans. That’s who. I love them both.
Dope.
I’m not surprised at all. Congrats to her. Have a good weekend everyone.
