Mama Joyce caught a lot of criticism when “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans learned she allegedly tried to set up her son-in-law to be Todd Tucker, and Kandi was told her mother was willing to pay people to get pictures of him acting inappropriately with other women. It was also rumored that Mama Joyce specifically asked people to help her set up Todd by putting him in a situation that would lead to him cheating on Kandi, therefore ending their relationship for good.
However, Mama Joyce says she did not try to set Todd up. She tells Cocoa Fab:
“It was really hard for me to watch the last episode for one thing because they were lying on me so that was the hardest part. I never once asked this guy, Benny, to set Todd up. I did tell him that I would pay for some pictures.”
Mama Joyce goes on to say that she heard Todd allowed Kandi’s bff Carmon to sit in his lap and be flirty in public:
“He told me Carmon was sitting on Todd’s lap. I said, ‘Wow, for real?’ I knew Kandi would not believe me because I had told her something and she didn’t believe me so I knew she would only believe us if she saw actual pictures. I said I would pay him for some pictures. I didn’t say nothing about no posing pictures. I meant if he was really behaving that way not when he’s posing with fans. That was the extent of our conversation.
“I told Kandi about that story a long time ago that I said I would pay for pictures so thats why I don’t understand who came up with this about me setting Todd up. I didn’t say anything about setting Todd up. That’s so stupid to even think I would do that.”
And when it comes to the physical confrontation that took place between Kandi and Cynthia’s sister Mal, Mama Joyca says she thinks the real reason Kandi was upset that night was because Todd was once again called an opportunist:
“I don’t believe that Kandi was really that mad at Cynthia’s sister. I think she was mad that someone was saying things about Todd. She will do anything for me not to be right.”
In related news, Mama Joyce, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker appeared on “The View” this morning. And as usual, Mama Joyce went in on Todd as Kandi sat there and wept. Check out the video below:
I still can’t get over that voicemail she left Carmon. “You old low down heifer.” LOL.
Mama Joyce needs to back off. Todd does have a job and had one before he started dating Kandi. She has to stop trying to make him out to be some loser. He’s not.
They ain’t never going to get married. Watch.
Kandi is going to have to do a lot more than crying.
Yeah but she won’t. She thinks Mama Joyce will stop once she sees how much it’s hurting Kandi but it won’t change a thing. She has to stand up to her mom and tell her to chill out. But she will not do that because she doesn’t want to be disrespectful even though there is a respectful way to do it.
Mama Joyce has acted like an old fool this whole season. I hope that Bravo check was worth it!
I think she’s lying. I can see her really trying to get someone to set Todd up. He’s being really patient but I won’t be surprised if he ends up walking away.
It’s hard to believe anything that comes out of Mama Joyce’s mouth.
Sad.
I wish she would sit her old a-s down. Lol.
She’ll be happy…with She & Kandi in rockin chairs…side by side…Counting Kandi $$$$….that’s her real concern….Kandi’s $$$$ Not HAPPINESS!!!…
I don’t see how he is still holding on at this point. I would have snapped off on both of them by now.If they do get married this will be a bone of contention for them forever. He either truly loves her or he has his own agenda. Well have to wait & see I guess.

Well if she said she would pay for some pictures, what the hell does she call that? Sounds like a set up to me. Anywho, Todd just needs to do what he said on the last ep and leave Kandi and her meddling a-s mama right there with all that foolishness. Life is much too short to be dealing with some grown a-s person who can’t establish boundaries and demand respect for her future spouse. I’m sorry but Kandi aint no real woman because I’d have respectfully set my mother straight many moons ago. Like Carmon said, Kandi and Joyce have some deep issues that far surpass anything that has to do with Todd. SMDH
